DALLAS (AP) -- A letter from the Supreme Court's doctor says Antonin Scalia suffered from coronary artery disease, obesity and diabetes, among other ailments that probably contributed to the justice's sudden death.
Presidio County District Attorney Rod Ponton cited the letter Tuesday, when he told The Associated Press there was nothing suspicious about the Feb. 13 death of the 79-year-old jurist. He said the long list of health problems made an autopsy unnecessary.

I’d heard that he was very overweight, didn’t exercise, had heart disease, liked alcohol, rich food, cigars and a pipe-put that all together and it doesn’t spell living to 100-I hadn’t read that he was diabetic, but I haven’t heard of many people with diabetes living to almost 80-even the ones who were not overweight, etc-Scalia being diabetic, overweight, doing all that other stuff-and still living to be nearly 80 is pretty amazing...
The you in this case would be that person making a ruling without examining the facts, and instead jump to a conclusion without the facts. Especially of someone as important as Scalia was and the implications of his passing carry.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. My bad.
Oswald acted alone. Ninety-seven of the world’s scientists agree . . . .
In many cases autopsies are performed even if the family objects, even for religious reasons, if there is even the remote possibility of foul play. A pillow on his head is such an indicator of possible foul play.
There was no investigation, no autopsy, no toxicology report. There was not even a physical examination of the body of the deceased. It appears that the body was not taken from the ranch until around 24 hours after Scalia died. Though like everything else in this case no one even knows the time of death.
The only information available is that given by John Poindexter, Obama’s “most prized political donor”.
But the MSM writes article after article saying that they know Scalia died of natural causes despite the lack of evidence.
That is great-was he in otherwise perfect health? As I said in another post, I’ve not heard of many with diabetes living that long.
The resort owner said he was lying on his back - I suspected he had sleep apnea now confirmed - very conceivable he stopped breathing
It will not go unnoticed. The HAES crowd will not allow it. #fireworks #letitburn
That pillow over his head probably didn’t help his oxygen intake.
I had said the man should have been subjected to an autopsy the day the news broke he was dead. This is not complex.
Particularly someone who the president and his administration dislike so intently and whose continued service on the Court would endanger the president’s legacy.
My Dad was in poor health for several years before passing.
It was one thing after another, but for some reason he held on. The decline was steady and long.
Scalia’s death was sudden, unexpected, and not at the end of a long decline. Good enough reason for an autopsy in spite of the diabetes and the other things.
The death even if it was a murder was an act of compassion.
Obama mentor Bill Ayers and the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats and their ideological issue in the Administration are said to have declared that as many as 25 million Americans would have to be killed to bring about the changes they demand.
Looks like someone among them found a way to do much of the chore with the death of just one Constitution-loving, conservative Supreme Court justice.
(And I will continue to believe that until an impartial and thorough investigation proves otherwise beyond doubt.)
A typical 79 year old male with "coronary artery disease, obesity and diabetes" can expect roughly 10 more years of life. Nothing to stop him from, say, going on a hunting trip to Texas, as long as he brings his medications along with him.
Age 80 today is the "new 60".
He was truly a giant among men.
LoL
Oh noes...that can’t possibly be right after all the chicken littles have been running around telling me that he was MURDERED!!!!!
The man was old, overweight, diabetic, had COPD, high blood pressure.......ALL of those would have contributed to his death. Even had he died at home or in a hospital no autopsy would have been done
