Donald Trump: Roe v. Wade Was “Wrongly Decided,” I Will Appoint Judges to Change It
Life News ^ | FEB 18, 2016 | STEVEN ERTELT

Posted on 02/18/2016 3:19:08 PM PST by Kazan

In the second part of an interview with David Brody of CBN, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was “wrongly decided.” Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.

“It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed,” Trump told Brody. “Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

This part of the interview with CBN follows a portion that saw Trump commit for the first time to signing a bill to defend the Planned Parenthood abortion business — though the candidate said he still thinks Planned Parenthood does some good things.

Here’s the partial transcript and video of the interview:

David Brody: “Roe V. Wade: do you think it should be overturned and would you put Supreme Court Justices or would you look at Supreme Court Justices that felt that way.”

Donald Trump: “I will put people on that are going to be very very good and constitutionalists and they’re going to do a good job but it’s going to take a long time.” (Partial Transcription)

David Brody: “But beyond judges, do you believe Roe V. Wade was wrongly decided back in the day, back in 1973?”

Donald Trump: ‘Well I do. It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed. Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

Previously, Trump issued an op-ed condemning Roe v. Wade but stopped short of saying it should be reversed.

Donald all we need is for Justices to do their job and follow the Constitution

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Gay Marriage, Abortion etc... these Liberal activist Justices use their power to create new rights to uphold laws that may not be constitutional but that they like because in their warped view it helps people. Amazing how leftists always use political power to force their views on a populace. That in itself is the antithesis of freedom and should stand as stark warning to everyone that values freedom, because when this country collapses because of its loose fiscal policy promising more and more to the takers at the expense of the producers the anarchy and bloodbath that follows will be like nothing in history and will be followed by dictatorship.

“Just curious - how is your take in incest different than rape? I would say incest is usually rape since the victim is not in a position to say no.”

That’s why I say it... Most incest is rape. So just leave it as rape. If two adult siblings want to have a kid, the risk is not all that high. Certainly not high enough to kill the kid.

Donald did say he thought Roe should be “changed”. That is far from saying it should be reversed.

In January 2015 Trump did say in a an interview that is on You Tube in which he said his approval for abortion, besides rape, incest, and life of the mother, was based on “when” the abortion took place. He did not define when “when” was. It could have been O.K. before 6 weeks, 12 weeks, or 35 weeks for all I know. He didn’t explain further.

Well you can think whatever you want. Ted Cruz has a record. Trump has a mouth. Cruz has a 100% ACU rating. Trump is 0%.

The best way to do it is through a Constitutional Amendment and I am sure Trump understands that we are not there just yet. We have 30 states but the probable is the Senate. I am surprised how many abortion clinics have closed all over the country the last 10 years. It is awesome.

That's a fair question to ask, but are you willing to eat crow if he sticks to it?

Don't hold your breath. Some people really don't want just a part of their dreams to come true unless absolutely everything they've ever dreamed of comes true all at once, just from pulling a lever. It's sad, the stubbornly unrealistic view of the adult world in a society our Founders told us must contain political compromises from time to time -- even then, when the moral culture was well-defined.

“True specific Positions” candidates like Todd Akin or Ron Paul would have gaffed and said “legitimate rape.

“Evil” flip flopper Trump doesnt let the media catch him with specific answers.

Well, you faulted Trump for not having a political record. He has been providing jobs and paying taxes, instead of having taxpayers pay his salary.

Ironically, what you fault Trump for is why people back him: we’re tired of politicians, sometimes even with perfect conservative credentials, stab us in the back.

But isn't he such an eloquent speaker?

You'd prefer an Obama?

I'll take Joe the construction boss, who stumbles putting a sentence together, but has a heart full of love for this country and the ability to fnd out what needs to be done and then get things done.

The moral luxury of living in a shared Christian culture has been over for decades -- since WWII. One administration is not going to be able to bring it back, no matter what gets promised. Tend to your own morality, work within your own community and church, and push for what you want; but try to avoid throwing away your vote if you cannot get an outspoken Evangelical nominated.

A lukewarm Christian with a mandate from a majority will get a lot more done than an ardent Chrisitan who barely squeaks by and then has all hell turned loose on him by the many minions of the devil alive in this society today. The nasty things being said about Justice Scalia's death by a disgracefully large contingent of detractors should tell you just how easy it would be for an openly professing Christian president to garner legislative support for moral issues.

Trump makes a poor attempt at parroting what someone told him Conservatives want to hear.

People who actually CARE to stop the tide of illegal immigration are not going to wait to stop the immigration until the Islamofascist hellholes of the Middle East have ecome a restored garden of Eden or until all of Latin America has a Beverly Hills aterialist lifestyle. Similarly, STOP THE AMERICAN HOLOCAUST of babies first, then the similar WORLD HOLOCAUST of babies. Then and ONLY then tinker with "Wholistic" anything else. TRUMP!!! just does not get it and he probably NEVER WILL.

I would prefer that the entire world and even this pope would adhere to traditional Roman Catholic Faith and moral standards and charity and evangelism, etc. It ain't gonna happen. If force is necessary to close the abortion mills and sharply reduce baby-killing by outlawing baby-killing, sign me up! There will still be some abortions just as there are still bank robberies but we do what we can as soon as we can,

This is why I support Trump. He’s not running as an Arnold Schwarzenegger Republican but as a conservative and I think he can win.

And that’s what they said about Ronaldus Maximus too. Remember chewing your fingernails to the elbow on election nights 1980 and 1984 over the outcome of Reagan/Carter and Reagan/Mondale?

Yes, I know. I've noticed your postings on FR. This election has turned you mean and nasty.

I will vote for any of our candidates as our country can't take 8 more years of a Hillary! or a Sanders. Our worst is a million times better than what the other side has.
