AUSTIN - Ted Cruz leads a new presidential primary poll in Texas, just over a month before the U.S. senator will face his home-state voters in the much-anticipated Super Tuesday contest.

A KTVT-TV/Dixie Strategies survey released Thursday shows Cruz at 30 percent among likely GOP primary voters in Texas. He's followed by mogul Donald Trump at 25 percent, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 12 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 8 percent.

That's a change from October, when the same pollsters said Cruz was trailing in Texas behind Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

The latest poll, which has an error margin of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points, contacted 1,001 likely GOP primary voters on Monday and Tuesday. It appears that Dixie Strategies uses automated telephone interviews, which some experts say are less reliable than other methods.

If Texans vote for a Canadian I will be very disappointed.

*****************

Don’t rule it out as they voted for him in the primary to win the runoff.

What will happen to this Texas poll two weeks from now if Cruz finishes fourth in NH as some polls are now suggesting?

That will have no bearing on anything in TEXAS, we care about the way New Hampshire votes about as much as they care about our voting principles - NADA.

CRUZ knew all along the granite state was a long shot.

South Carolina is a complete different matter.

The guy I responded to said Cruz was ahead by 15 points in Texas a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry, if he tanks to fourth in NH, it WILL affect polls in other states, including Tejas.

Nature of the beast.

If you can’t win your own state you are in big trouble.

We (TEXANS) fought very hard to put CRUZ where he is. The admiration of him here is REAL. Polls are for Strippers.

“Texas should just cancel the primary”

Never said that...I’m just stating the FACTS!

"Don’t rule it out as they voted for him in the primary to win the runoff."

While everyone knew he was born in Canada, nobody knew he was still a Canadian citizen then.

Well, except for Ted Cruz.

He'll have a hard time getting reelected in Texas to the Senate when somebody, either Dem or GOP goes after the fact he did not disclose that fact in 2012.

It certainly would have affected the vote then. And could again.

He could prove to be an Iowa one trick pony.

On the other hand, not discounting the sleaze factor, he could go back to the Clinton playbook.

Maybe eke out another win or two before he collapses.

You didn’t say it, I said it based on your pronouncement that Trump would never beat Cruz in Texas.

The most recent FACT is that Cruz and Trump are virtually tied in Texas.

It may but being a sitting senator has it’s pull. That is also assuming he’ll run
for reelection should he lose the Presidential primary. Edward has a habit of
moving jobs every few years.

“Hey just take Cruz’s numbers and tack on however much you can pull out of your rear!”

Nobody is doing anything. Read the previous posts. I already provided the links. If you can’t read then that is your problem.

Unless you’re in Texas, you also don’t have a clue what you’re talking about!!

“The most recent FACT is that Cruz and Trump are virtually tied in Texas.”

No...the most recent POLL. Polls are not FACTS and are usually wrong, especially depending on the many variables used to make a poll. Iowa is PROOF of the unreliability of polls.

I can give you a poll today that shows Cruz winning 100% in Texas. Geez...calling a poll a fact is pretty lame even for a dishonest Trump supporter.

The FACTS are that I have yet to meet a single Trump supporter in the State that is actually a registered republican and I travel extensively and have a large network of acquaintances because of my social and professional circles. I have yet to meet anyone that has ever met a Trump supporter in the State that is actually a registered republican. I have met one demoncrat Trump supporter, but that is it. Those are the FACTS. You don’t have to like them, but it is still the FACTS!!

All the Texans I have ever met are not going to admit they are wrong about anything. If Cruz doesn’t fare any better than 5 points over Trump, he’s NOT that good in Texas.

What has he done period, except flap his gums?

Your so-called facts are based on anecdotes, nothing more. They’re no more reliable than the polls and surveys you deride.

But calling me a dishonest Trump supporter ends our discussion. it’s childish and a petty immature slander that I have no time for. We’re done. Good Day.
