In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, policy differences between him and Donald Trump. There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more, Cruz tells The Brody File. In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.
Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. Hes been courting evangelical voters since his announcement speech at Liberty University. The truth is this: Cruz needs Trump to fade to have a realistic shot. The Brody File contends that Trumps biggest threat is not Jeb or Rubio. Its Cruz. Hes going after many of the same voters as Trump and he has the credentials, intellect, debating skills and passion to really make a dent in Trumps voter pool.
One other quote from Cruz during our interview:
I think the sharpest difference between my record and that of every other candidate is that people are tired of campaign conservatives. Theyre tired of people who talk a great game while theyre on the campaign trail but they actually havent walked the walk and I think people are looking for a consistent conservative.

You think that's a bad thing?
Maybe Cruz needs to pal around more with Reid, McCain, Linsey Gayham and Mitch the Turdle, right?
I didn’t say she got paid, or received benefits, did I? No - I didn’t. I said that she is technically still employed - meaning they are holding her job open for her and they are. I don’t belong to a stupid union or whatever else you falsely accused me of. And, each employer has different rules by which they abide regarding “leave of absence.” And, yes, I took one during an employment period, and yes, I just came back when ready. There was NO paperwork - so, you can just spew your junk elsewhere. It isn’t like a medical leaved. SOme of you Cruz supporters are some of the nastiest people on this forum - which turns me off to his candidacy - when he used to be my favorite and then I had him as #2 - but not any more.
Typical lying scum professional politician move. Voting to lower the bar from 60 votes to 50 and then voting against it. I hate professional politicians.
Of whom are they "terrified"? Trump is generally winning, in many states quite handily. Cruz can barely break 5% in most places. If Trump supporters *are* terrified of somebody...it's not Cruz.
As far as Facebook goes, I dont know what goes on on your page, but mine is all Cruz and not because of me because most of the posters are not even my friends.
Yeah, but see, the way FB works is that it tends to organize people together based on the things they post on, pages they post on and visit, etc. Hence, even if the people who you're seeing for Cruz aren't your FB friends, the chances are that you see them because of the shared interest anywise.
As I already pointed out, Trump said all foreign student grads, not just PHD's.
Smart people make the economy grow and create jobs.
That's the exact argument Ted Cruz uses for H1Bs.
Actually, I kinda think I'm the only sane man here.
"If we want to actually dismantle ISIS, we need to dramatically change course. We need a real, robust campaign that maximizes our overwhelming air advantage.
We need to focus our efforts not on trying to create friends, but on supporting our real ones, especially the Kurds in Iraq and Syria who have actually had success against ISIS."
-snip-
"We can redouble our efforts to develop the defensive weapons that neutralized the offensive Soviet threat -- particularly missile defense, which has seen a 25% budget reduction under Obama, according to an analysis from the conservative Heritage Foundation, and has been constrained by bad arms deals like New START.
We should not only move quickly to install the canceled interceptor sites Putin opposed in Poland and the Czech Republic, but also to develop the next generation of systems that will only increase his discomfiture.
These options do not entail a ground war in Syria, yet would effectively shake us free from the failed policies that have brought us to our current impasse.
These options set us on a new path that puts Putin on notice that the United States is reclaiming our traditional role as leader of the free world."

I think it would be a mistake to get involved in the Syrian civil war. There have been voices in Washington eager for us to send our sons and daughters over to fight that civil war for some time. I havent been one of them. I think the touchstone of U.S. military policy should be protecting the national security of this country.
What were seeing Putin in Russia do is a direct response to the profound weakness of Obama over six and a half years.
Putin views Obama as weak, as ineffective, and frankly, as a laughingstock. And, as a result, he is moving in, he is invading his neighbors like Ukraine hes kidnapping Estonians, and hes moving into Syria to gain a stronger foothold in the Middle East."

"According to the Washington Free Beacon, Russias nuclear arsenal how has over 100 nuclear warheads above the limit set by the treaty.
Since the treaty was launched, Russia has deployed 111 new nuclear warheads, bringing its total number of deployed warheads to 1,648. That treaty limit is 1,550 warheads a number that must be reached in 2018.
Comparatively, the numbers of U.S. nuclear warheads, missiles and bombers have fallen dramatically and are already below the limits set by the treaty. Additionally, the United States has decreased the number of warheads in its deployed nuclear arsenal by 250.
While the United States intends to eliminate heavy bombers and launchers, Russia has launched a strategic nuclear force expansion.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also recently announced a new doctrine that placed priority on nuclear forces.
If this raises concern for you, you are not alone.
Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces, said Russia is in the business of violating treaties.
Rogers said Putin has violated several agreements and treaties in the past, and he simply violates any treaty or agreement that puts limits on capabilities that Mr. Putin and his cronies desire.
Russias arguable adherence to the New START Treaty just indicates how bad a deal it is for the United States, he said.
Adm. William Gortney, commander of the U.S. Northern Command, said Wednesday that Russia has read our play book and is fielding cruise missiles that are very, very accurate, very long range.
Gortney said these missiles have the ability to reach targets in Canada and the United States. He added that Russia has been participating in war game scenarios recently that simulate cruise missile strikes in Alaska.
This news is serious because it appears Russia has no intention of abiding by New START or any other treaty. We should therefore be building up our military and our arsenals instead of depleting them.

Russia Adds 111 Warheads Under Arms Treaty
Moscow warheads above New START treaty limit
By: Bill Gertz
October 9, 2015
Russia has now deployed more than 100 nuclear warheads in its strategic arsenal above the limits set by the New START arms treaty limitstwo years before it must meet treaty arms reduction goals.
"New START nuclear warhead and delivery system numbers made public Oct. 1 reveal that since the 2010 arms accord went into force, Moscow increased the number of deployed nuclear warheads by a total of 111 weapons for a total of 1,648 deployed warheads. That number is 98 warheads above the treaty limit of 1,550 warheads that must be reached by the 2018 deadline of the treaty.
At the same time, U.S. nuclear warheads, missiles, and bombers have fallen sharply and remain below the required levels under the New START pact.
The United States during the same period of the Russian increases cut its deployed nuclear arsenal by 250 warheads. ..." (more...)

The New START Treaty: Central Limits and Key Provisions
Congressional Research Service
Summary
The United States and Russia signed the New START Treaty on April 8, 2010. After more than 20 hearings, the U.S. Senate gave its advice and consent to ratification on December 22, 2010, by a vote of 71-26. Both houses of the Russian parliamentthe Duma and Federation Council approved the treaty in late January 2011, and it entered into force on February 5, 2011, after Secretary of State Clinton and Foreign Minister Lavrov exchanged the instruments of ratification.
New START provides the parties with 7 years to reduce their forces, and will remain in force for a total of 10 years. It limits each side to no more than 800 deployed and nondeployed land-based intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) launchers and deployed and nondeployed heavy bombers equipped to carry nuclear armaments.
Within that total, each side can retain no more than 700 deployed ICBMs, deployed SLBMs, and deployed heavy bombers equipped to carry nuclear armaments. The treaty also limits each side to no more than 1,550 deployed warheads; those are the actual number of warheads on deployed ICBMs and SLBMs, and one warhead for each deployed heavy bomber.
New START contains detailed definitions and counting rules that will help the parties calculate the number of warheads that count under the treaty limits. Moreover, the delivery vehicles and their warheads will count under the treaty limits until they are converted or eliminated according to the provisions described in the treatys Protocol. These provisions are far less demanding than those in the original START Treaty and will provide the United States and Russia with far more flexibility in determining how to reduce their forces to meet the treaty limits. ..."

>.”Cruz needs to learn modesty, and be humble. “
Again, modesty and humility from Donald Trump? Surely you jest.
>>”What has Cruz earned? “
Actual votes in an actual election. Against the establishment.
You do realize this is a primary “election,” yes? That the measure is votes not polls?
The good news is that America still has options if our leaders can summon the will to exercise them.
For starters, in Syria we cant double down on the failed strategies that have given Putin his opportunity to intervene.
We are now two years out from President Obamas proposed intervention after al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. ...

Ted Cruz is a U.S. senator from Texas. He is seeking the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of the author.
Nonsense, the World Court’s ruling was made enforceable by a directive from George Bush’s Justice Department— which was the primary issue on appeal.
It was “generally acknowledge”— by whom??? Supreme Court fairies that know how the Court will rule?
so here you are— the price you’re willing to pay to thrash a true patriot-— read you’re arguments again- see yourself.
Ping
Did you even read his post. He didnt even mention Trump. Why dont you address what he said?
*****************
Didn’t have the read the 3rd grader’s post; I know he supports Trump because of his juvenile tone; and I don’t answer because the poster doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to comprehend-— he’s not mentally or emotionally of age.
Cruz can’t get past single digits in NATIONWIDE polls. You know why? The country is different from Texas.
Will democrat voters go for Cruz?
Will independent voters go for Cruz?
Heck, even Romney voters will stay home if Cruz is the nominee.
Hillary Vs. Cruz in General Election, Hillary wins in a the biggest landslide since Reagan.
You do know don't you that Mrs Cruz works for Goldman Sachs?
“Believe me .. there are NO REAL conservatives in NY.” Not, even, members of the N.Y. Conservative Party?
VinL has perfected the liberal method of attacking the poster when he can’t respond to issues.
Just look who VinL is backing! The single digit candidate!!
Yep, America has been conditioned to pick the “shiniest” candidate instead of the best.
Doesn’t speak too well for America these days.
Give us King Saul! He’s the tallest and most “king looking”.
That didn’t work out so well for those involved. It doesn’t work out so well for us either.
