A former top aide to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) fired off a series of tweets Monday afternoon explaining why the governor dropped out of the race.
Less than an hour after news broke that Walker would suspend his campaign, Liz Mair a former Walker adviser who was forced to resign earlier this year after criticizing various aspects of Iowa politics tweeted out more two dozen tweets explaining the governor's demise.
Mair blamed the governor's sagging poll numbers less on the anti-establishment political climate and more on a number of strategic miscalculations.

I wouldn’t say he’s just another weak Rino but he apparently made some serious mistakes with his staff. The fired aide who did all this tweeting comes across as extremely bitter and critical of his current staff.
She also hinted at a big scandal about to break.
Too bad. I liked Scott but if something bad is gonna come out it had better be now than later in the campaign.
” something tells me Trump wont be hiring a single one of em!”
Which is another reason they hate him!
Liz should start with the point that Walker picking her as a campaign guru. That helped to start his GOPe death spiral.
Just as in the past several election cycles, the worst of these bilge rats swim from one sinking ship to the next.
Why make a tasteless comment about Perry. He’s out and the La Raza tag was fake.
But why bother.
A longtime Scott Walker adviser anonymously tells National Journal that the now officially announced presidential contenders strategy will be to first lock up conservatives and then move to a more moderate position later on in the campaign.
I was a Walker supporter, though I did not see him as the guy for president in this election cycle. I was very disappointed to see him slander Trump at his “suspension” announcement. As a result, I will have a difficult time supporting him in the future.
Y’all need to know you can’t trust this Liz Mair as far as you could throw her.
Walkers mistake was being associated with people like her.
You can tell in many ways. Here are two
1) she ought not be tweeting out all this turncoat stuff no matter what.
2) shes one of those who were with GOProud a few years back, nuff said.
These Professional Political Class mercenaries are incompetent and just suck up money.
Nailed it!
He’s young yet. He could run another time and use what he learned this time around.
One thing he learned for sure is running for Prez is a lot different than running for Gov.
I was really hoping to see him do much better. Oh well.
Politics is a blood sport, and a particularly nasty one.
Didn’t know Ed Rollins was a democrat. He’s the one who ruined her campaign when he took over.
How on EARTH do you get that from his speech? I see a man that is frustrated by the GOPe and how much they SUCK.
Governor Walker is ADVOCATING FOR CONSERVATISM. Something WOEFULLY LACKING here on FR these days with all of this Trump stupidity.

And this isn’t sour grapes on my part. I want Governor Walker home here in Wisconsin continuing to grind the Socialists’ faces into the gravel! Screw the rest of ya, LOL!
Welcome Home, Sir! We still have a LOT of work to do right here. Most importantly, we’ll have a vacant SC seat this spring election. OMG! WHAT can be more important than THAT in EVERY STATE in this day, after watching SCOTUS legislate from the bench?!?! Aarrgghhh!
We seriously NEED Conservative Governors in many more of our States. We The People are being SCREWED by the Feds. DAILY.
All Politics Is Local.
As a sucessful campaign advisor to several candidates at state and local level in Illimois during the 60s through 80’s and a campaign designer contributer to the Reagan campaign on the state level. That marerial I’m told is in the Reagan library .
I find it a violation of a code of honor never to reflect badly on those who have hired me during any race and never spoke out even when the race was abandonded completely. Until that race is well over and the victor declared .
In Walker’s case he suspended campaigning and if I were advising him I’d suggest he do this because of the way it’s going. And announce withdrawal in exactly the same manner I would have advised he’s done which amazed me . Which means as Mark Levin speculated about this announcement “he could be back”.
Oh, I agree. I can see the Dems/GOPee in congress having hissy fits. But if Trump is smart, he can do two things. He can assemble the best people for the job (unlike the cronies chosen now) and their success will bring him popularity with the people. Then, he can use the bully pulpit to get some (lib) congressmen and senators tossed out, no matter the party.
If Trump is able to do what he promises to do, he will be a success with the people. If he has difficulty that traces back directly to the “politicians,” the politicians will have trouble.
LOL! Good one!!
Yup, but... I guess she doesn't want to get hired again.Yup, I guess if they're smart like you they'll continue to hire the same crew(s) that caused him to drop out instead of the one(s) that can predict problems ahead of time.
Even if what she says is true, why would someone hire a person who bad mouths their previous employer?
“Even if what she says is true, why would someone hire a person who bad mouths their previous employer?”
Fair question - perhaps only hire her if she agrees to keep her trap shut for some amount of time after the job ends. I still respect her for tearing down the “top-notch” Republican consultants - but I agree, still a loose cannon.
Sounds like blackmail to me. Drop out or we release some information that will make you look bad.
