Prosecutors Said to Recommend Charges Against Former Gen. David Petraeus

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. and Justice Department prosecutors have recommended bringing felony charges against retired Gen. David H. Petraeus for providing classified information to his former mistress while he was director of the C.I.A., officials said, leaving Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to decide whether to seek an indictment that could send the pre-eminent military officer of his generation to prison.

The Justice Department investigation stems from an affair Mr. Petraeus had with Paula Broadwell, an Army Reserve officer who was writing his biography, and focuses on whether he gave her access to his C.I.A. email account and other highly classified information. F.B.I. agents discovered classified documents on her computer after Mr. Petraeus resigned from the C.I.A. in 2012 when the affair became public.

Mr. Petraeus, a retired four star-general who served as commander of American forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan, has said he never provided classified information to Ms. Broadwell, and has indicated to the Justice Department that he has no interest in a plea deal that would spare him an embarrassing trial. . .

obviously Holder’s justice department isn’t concerned at all about who leaked that members of Seal Team 6 was on the Chinook that got shot down killing all on board or who gave Iran the code to take control of the drone or the US weapons transfers to terrorist in Benghazi and on and on and on............... Petraeus may have screwed up but it was minor in comparison to the leaks that have come out of the obozo administration. There ought to be a firing squad in wait to exact justice on this current regime.””

And there are many more secrets that have been delivered to our enemies that will never be revealed and many more that will be sold by BOs cronies in years to come.

I await his counter-attack.
An honorable man would have done a Sunday morning Hackworthathon in the month after Benghazi, before the election.

Not defending what Petraeus did, but how come Sandy Berger got a free pass for walking out with classified documents stuffed in his pants?

And how many died in Benghazi without Zero, Plugs, Bitchlery, and the rest being indicted and removed?

That should shut Patraeus up for good about what really happened in Iraq, Afganistan and Syria.Obama fears him so much that he is greyed by it.

This is what happens when criminals have control of the judiciary and nothing is going to stop them.

I spoke with my military nephew about this topic and he said that he would read up on it but that Petraeus’s girlfriend was high level security clearance, so he thought it was not going to happen because it doesn’t pass the smell test....Someone has it in for David Petraeus.

He’s still a general. Officers can retire but they are still commissioned. Besides weren’t the actions in questioned performed while he was active duty?

A political prosecution.

When Caesar crossed the Rubicon, he had a huge army. Petraeus has bupkis.
