Scientists have sequenced the oldest complete human genome.
The DNA comes from an anatomically modern man who roamed Western Siberia 45,000 years ago.
It provides experts with a more accurate timeline of when modern humans mated with their Neanderthal cousins as they moved from Africa into Europe, between 50,000 and 60,000 years ago.
Scientists have sequenced the oldest complete human genome. The DNA comes from an anatomically modern man who roamed Western Siberia 45,000 years ago. His remains were fund near the settlement of Ust-Ishim in western Siberia in 2008.
The male lived around the time the populations of Europe and Asia divided.
His remains were found near the small village of Ust-Ishim in western Siberia in 2008 when an ivory hunter looking for mammoth tusks stumbled across the find.
They are believed to represent the oldest radiocarbon-dated modern human outside Africa and the Middle East, according to the study in Nature.
Dr Janet Kelso, of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, retrieved DNA from the mans thighbone.

It was proven a while ago that humans didn’t migrate from afrika.
Here is more information on the same discovery.

I saw a couple of Neanderthal women at Wal-Mart just the other day.
In hijabs?
Stupid assumptions. No trace of DNA would survive for 45k years.
Let’s just believe God, which is much more rational.
Yes, but did you breed with them?
I think not. We have higher standards these days nicht war?
Omg I just spit out my coffee! Warning next time please!
How can this be.. I thought the earth was only 6000 years old?
Yes
Strangely enough, it’s last name was Pelosi-rex...
Shame on you! It is too late in the day for coffee!
Question - is there any Neanderthal in any modern Human line?
Thanks Fractal Trader.
The Neandertal Enigma"Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]
