RNC issue a statement honoring Kwanzaa
North Dallas Gazette ^ | December 26, 2013

Posted on 12/26/2013 10:00:45 AM PST by Zakeet

Yes, the Republican National Committee WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement commemorating Kwanzaa:

“I want to extend my best wishes to all who are celebrating Kwanzaa,” said Chairman Priebus. “For families coming together to mark the occasion, I hope it is a joyous time of celebration with loved ones–and a time of meaningful reflection ahead of the New Year.”

“From December 26 through January 1, many families will take time to celebrate African culture and history. Kwanzaa is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to honor the importance of family and community, and it reminds us of the great diversity in America. Happy Kwanzaa!” said Co-Chairman Day

That much is true, however, you missed an important (and previous) step: conservatives telling other conservatives that their candidate is more conservative (repeated for 4-5 candidates), resulting in some milquetoast getting the nomination. Happens nearly every time. So yes, it will be the “conservatives” fault.

Not in runoff states.

I don’t think anyone would have noticed

I disagree with you, Geron (A rare moment, so mark "Boxer Day" on your calendar).

If this was a normal Christmas season, I'd be inclined to agree with you, but we have the Rats in the Bastard Media looking for something, anything to divert the attention of "religious" people from the disaster the homos are reaping with the Duck Dynasty deal. They will trump up *anything* to get at us, even conflating us with the GOPe. If Prince doesn't make at least a passing reference to this phoney holiday, there will be screaming and hours of analysis over the fact that the GOP proved it's raciss. This isn't "caving," it's "Picking our battles better." Nobody thinks this will gain a single Black vote for Republicans. That's a fool's errand.

Do you want to hear about another kick in the ass Prince avoided? Us having to defend his sorry butt when the Bastard Media starts the pile-on. A lot of us pointed this out back during the Romney fiasco: Before it was over, we were going to be forced to defend the biggest RINO in the world. I'm glad we're not going to have to do it over a fake freakin' holiday.

Why would we have to defend him?

Because they’ll be calling him an arch-conservative, turning it into a proxy war between us and the MSM. It’s a lie, but that’s what they’ll do, and we’ll be forced to defend him. It happened with Romney, and McQueeg as well.

And, they wonder why no one wants to contribute to these bunch of RINO’s?

I deleted some unread RNC emails when I logged on this morning.

Who cares about man-made cult “events” from the 1960’s? How REAL can that be?

That much is true, however, you missed an important (and previous) step: conservatives telling other conservatives that their candidate is more conservative (repeated for 4-5 candidates), resulting in some milquetoast getting the nomination. Happens nearly every time. So yes, it will be the “conservatives” fault.

That happened in California in the 1986 Senate race--there were about 11 conservatives in the race and one liberal Republican. The conservatives chewed each other up and Ed Zscchau (rhymes, appropriately, with Mao) won the plurality. Even though he only had a third of the votes, he got the nomination because there was no runoff.

In November, the conservatives voted third party (as did I) or decided to "go fishing" on Election Day, and Democrat Alan Cranston narrowly won another term.

For the most part their ancestors came to this country decades before mine did. It's time they became Americans, like my ancestors did.

It should be portrayed as driven by black republicans. Perhaps that might draw a few votes over by showing that blacks can again “control whitey”.

I am all for “black community outreach,” but this is ridiculous. I have never met a single black person who celebrates or has any respect whatever for this phoney holiday.

I'm black, and have only ever known a handful of black folks who took Kwanza even half way serious. This pandering statement from the RNC shows just how out of touch with the black community they really are (and yes, the DNC probably sent out something similar).
