The controversial discovery of 68 million-year-old soft tissue from the bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex finally has a physical explanation. According to newly published research, iron in the dinosaur's body preserved the tissue before it could decay.

The research, headed by Mary Schweitzer, a molecular paleontologist at North Carolina State University, explains how proteins — and possibly even DNA — can survive for millennia. Schweitzer and her colleagues first raised this question in 2005, when they found the seemingly impossible: soft tissue preserved inside the leg of an adolescent T. rex unearthed in Montana.

There are no scientific facts that prove that dinosaurs lived 100 million years ago and there is much evidence that dinosaurs lived alongside man. See other posts about cave drawings of dinosaurs.

Dating rocks by radioactive timekeepers is simple in theory, but almost all of the different methods (except for the isochron methods) rely on these few basic assumptions:

1. Beginning Conditions Known

2, Beginning Ratio of Daughter to Parent Isotope Known (zero date problem)

3. Constant Decay Rate

4, No Leaching or Addition of Parent or Daughter Isotopes

5. All Assumptions Valid for Billions of Years

6. There is also a difficulty in measuring precisely very small amounts of the various isotopes

I was merely pointing out that we don't have any of these animals here today, so why would you assume that we would still have dinosaurs here today?

Animals and plants go extinct regularly. That is not the way the dinosaurs went out. Although precisely how long it took to wipe out the dinosaurs could be disputed, it was still a pretty wholesale elimination. No dinosaur fossils found in the strata after that approximate time. But if there had been dinosaurs several thousand years ago, I think it a fair assumption that some may have made it this far.

It would be vastly easier to believe a spaceship visited Jesus during his mission, than it would be to believe men and dinosaurs ever lived together.

There are knowns and unknowns. It is unknown whether other intelligent life exists in the universe, therefore it remains unlikely but possible.

Men and dinosaurs living at the same time is a known, and it says not possible.

I doubt 1000's of people could keep a secret like that anyway. Someone would have talked if it were true. as far as the financial aspect, you would be rich and famous for all time if you could prove something like that. Not to mention the temp and atmosphere were radically different too. Not really compatible with man's survival.
