Thanks.
What a great looking buch of Freepers, you make us proud!
Big thanks to Leni for hosting the after brunch at her condo’s rec center complete with “open bar”, goodies, and wonderful door prizes.
You can get to our state board by clicking on the Florida flag at the top of your profile page.
BTW, the story and photos you posted on your profile page of your hero nephew are fantastic. God bless him! All of us here appreciate his service from the bottom of our hearts.
Looking forward to seein' ya at the next freep!

Nice to see the familiar faces and the new ones!
Makes me sad to miss the fun.
She was very impressed with one young man, who reportedly has younger, single, brothers! LOL!
She reminded me to ask I Still Care about them...
And she has downloaded quite a few Drifters tunes, since they are really great songs she hadn't heard before...
Are we having fun yet?
Looks you folks did...
Great!
Hey, Bush, I think you spell it:
L-O-N
G-U-Y-L-A-N-T!
Thanks for the ping, Leni, and thanks again for such a wonderful Florida Freeper get together!
James and I always loveto see old friends and get to meet new ones! Have been lucky enough to get to meet a couple Florida Freepers down in the Lauderdale area on the trips James and I have made.
There are so very many Florida Freepers we have yet to meet and sure would be fun to plan another Florida Freeper weekend somewhere in our Sunshine state! But I know times are hard for many, and so that lends to getting together in smaller groups close to home as possible. The Florida Freeper Convention we had back in 08 in Orlando was such fun and that was when we were delighted to get to meet many Florida Freepers!
Looking forward into 2014 and 2016 I hope Freepers in every state will start using their state FR boards to join together in candidate discussions and work together to make happen what we all MUST make happen. That is take the Senate in 2014, keep the House, and then empty the White House of the trash and place an honest Conservative in as Commander In Chief!
Thanks for the ping, Leni.
I am so diappointed that travel prevented me from attending.
Looks like it was a great time for all who attended!
Hope to be able to make the next ‘Gathering of Egrets’!
Thanks, Sarge, for the ping. Looks a good time was had by all.
Too cool...you and your dulcimer.
Great job ricebug.
Leni, click my screen name and the first picture you see is by ricebug, it remains the best picture we have of my wife and me.
Seems like the last time we had that bunch together was the debate in Tampa complete with after party/discussion at the Wing House...you included.
Looks like everyone had a great time!
Due to economic concerns I couldn’t make the party. (I had to work!!)
FRegards!
Dave
Ah, the good times on our Freeper fund-raising cruises.
Long time no sea, Graybeard.
Leni
Thanks for all you do.
FReepers rock!
Oh, there is a person in one of those pictures who forgot to brush his teeth.
Mondavi, cab, 2010, not bad...

Your name was mentioned, along with Dave, Pete, and couple of other FReepers (who I can't remember now).

Dulcimers originated around 900 AD in Persia. They were popularized in Europe and later brought to North America by European immigrants in the early 1700s. The "Appalachian" dulcimer first appeared in the early 19th century among Scotch-Irish immigrant communities in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
At our brunch party, Old Sarge accompanied his dulcimer playing with some mighty fine singing. His lovely rendition of the classic Irish song "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?" brought a wee tear to me auld eyes.
Wikipedia has a fine history of the dulcimer and how it's played.
Sarge and Bushbacker performed a great finale to our entertainment with some lively jamming that I wished would go on and on. Both guys are very talented musicians in the true sense of the word.
Interesting sidelight....because the Irish represent the second-largest immigrant influx into the U.S., and because the dulcimer is an instrument much favored by Irish/Celtic musicians everywhere, I asked for a show of hands from those freepers with some Irish ancestry and about half the group raised their hands.
(....and, as they say, the other half wished they were Irish....lol).
O'Leni
It was good to meet FReepers you haven't met before face to face.

And you have a beautiful daughter!
Does my heart good to see young folks take it upon themselves to research, learn the truth and then share it with others. Can’t beat conservatives meeting other conservatives! :)
I am sure there will be events coming up in our Sunshine State so no doubt we will get to see you!
I am doing a Florida Freeper Ping here. Please let me know if you wish to be off my Florida ping list through FreepMail. Just wanted other Florida Freepers to see this thread and to know that there are other Freepers living close to you....NO MATTER where you live in Florida! If you don't know any Florida Freepers living close to you, just FreepMail me and I will put you in touch with those I believe reside in your particular area.
There is another reason I am doing this large Florida ping. I just heard a bit ago from a wonderful Veteran friend. He needs our help, and he is doing great work for all Veterans through his employment of Veterans and aid to needy Veterans through his all American Made products. Many folks have been giving him good support through larger $ donations, but that is NOT what is needed at this time. All he needs is a larger number of “backers” at $10 each. Once he meets 1000 in number of “backers” his work gets a lot more exposure and notice. Noah has only 48 more hours to reach the goal of 1000 “backers”. So if you can spare a minimal donation of $10 to become a “backer” please do. And perhaps you could spread this link below to your friends. Thanks so much!
