The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis....
The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.
(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians--including chaplains--sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of treason, and of committing an act of spiritual rape as serious a crime as sexual assault. He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are enemies of the Constitution.)
Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

Weinstein says he is from a Jewish-American family, with generations of service in the US military. So I imagine he wouldn’t have much time for Islamic or Wiccan preaching in the military either.
He is entitled to his view, and to campaign for secularism, but it is up to the US military, not W’s private foundation ‘Military Religious Freedom Foundation,’ to set policy.
I wonder if they’ll treat pestering homos any different?
Go to your happy place, manc. Clap if you believe in Tinkerbelle.
I choked up when I first read of this story. We have men and women in harm’s way and commanders without strength: medals and scrambled eggs be damned.
Interesting timing.....
“America is mission territorywhether we recognize it yet or not; whether we live in New York or Atlanta or Phoenixand we need a new Pentecost. We need to be people who are men and women of prayer, people of courage, people of service, men and women anchored in the sacramental life of the Church.”
Is this administration afraid of one Archbishop?
Actually, the NIGHT he was first elected I burst into uncontrollable tears....and I hadn’t even worked on any election that year, as we had just moved to another state. It is VERY unsettling....
‘NOR INTERFERE WITH THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF.” (Religion)
I would have to say you’re an idiot. What does proselytization mean to you? That’s just a word non-religious people have dreamed up - truth is, God requires us to witness to others. Plain and simple. That’s why we’re here. And what does pestering others mean? Suggesting they look at another point of view?
Huh? Are you saying that when a Christian witnesses to others that they might be “interfering” with God’s plan?
The Great Commission given to us by Christ is to “go into ALL of the World and PREACH the gospel.” Mark 16:15
I can’t possibly see how witnessing to others could possibly “interfere” with God’s plan.
Interesting updates to wiki for the term.

Removed:
Views on the propriety of proselytism, or even [[evangelism]], differ radically. Some feel that freedom of speech should have no limits and that virtually anyone, anywhere should have the right to talk about anything they see fit. Others see all sorts of evangelism as a nuisance and an intrusion and would like to see them proscribed. Thus, Natan Lerner observes that the issue is one of a clash of rights - the right of a person to express his views versus the right of a person not to be exposed to views that he does not wish to hear.

Old:
In the [[Bible]], the word [[proselyte]] denotes a person who has converted to the [[Judaism|Jewish religion]], without overtly negative overtones. In our day, however, the connotations of the word proselytism are almost exclusively negative. Nonetheless, many people use the words interchangeably. An [[Orthodox Christianity|Orthodox]] writer, Stephen Methodius Hayes has written: “If people talk about the need for evangelism, they meet with the response, “The Orthodox church does not proselytize” as if evangelizing and proselytism were the same thing.”

He needs to fill the ranks with sexual deviants , occultists and muslims to get his version of the SS .
I can’t stand to see what this man is doing to our military and our country.
Thanks Nachum.
Weinstein Quote...” Christians—including chaplains—sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of treason, and of committing an act of spiritual rape.... as serious a crime as sexual assault.... He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are enemies of the Constitution.
Has he forgotten who put the Constitution together and the very wordage in it? Apparently not.
This is a tearful thing...but I am not surprised...just gut wretched....we knew it could come...but oh golly...to take it away from those who have kept us free....no words are sufficient....
I agree....though very difficult to accept...hurts to see our country invaded and conqured by “heathen” who no longer hide who they are, nor who they serve.
History tells us when ever a nation turns away from God it’s invaded...and not always by military conflict.
No word though if they’re going to court martial homosexuals who recruit straight people into homosexuality though, huh?
I do believe there are Christians who choose to ‘Witness” and this ‘not’ with God directing them to do so. ...doing so can have the direct opposite affect they might otherwise hope for.
I have observed the Lord working around them...distracting them or otherwise occuping them... so what work was begun can be carried out as he intends.
Isn’t there a 1st Amendment issue here?
Let the Dems expose themselves as extremists. That is how the other side wins elections.
But I am sure Hagel would do anything to stop that.
He is a war hero.
Bottom line....this nation as a whole turned it’s back on God....He said...Ok, have it your way then. ..and this is what we get.
Yes, indeed. Romans 2 tells us that God gave over those who rejected Him to homosexual practices. He has now given us over, I believe, and His judgment will come. Personally, I believe that He has raised up His modern Pharaoh, the Muslims, to use as a weapon against the pagan nations (US!). He WILL BE GLORIFIED.
