Anti-Jihad Ads Considered Constitutional

SNIPPET: "New York City is the center of a public uproar as Internet blogger Pamela Gellar rises with an “anti-jihad” ad campaign."

SNIPPET: "Gellar and her group are protesting the Jihad, which in definition is the religious duty of Muslims.

According to the Dictionary of Islam, jihad is defined as “A religious war with those who are unbelievers in the mission of Muhammad . . . enjoined especially for the purpose of advancing Islam and repelling evil from Muslims.”

The literal meaning of jihad, according to the British Broadcasting Network, “is struggle or effort, and it means much more than holy war.”

The word jihad describes three different struggles, including “a believer’s internal struggle to live out the Muslim faith as well as possible, the struggle to build a good Muslim society and Holy war — the struggle to defend Islam, with force if necessary My politically incorrect nature wants to applaud the American Freedom Defense group for not softening the blow in their anti-jihad campaign."

SNIPPET: "What some refuse to see is the imminent danger that lingers with current events.

Our desires are honorable — to feel carefree and live under the laws of peace and hope — but we cannot act obliviously when real harm is knocking at our door.

Now is not the time to lose whatever support we have."

“Cyber Spies Spotted
Report: Chinese military cyber warfare units identified”

BY: Bill Gertz
October 26, 2012 5:00 am

SNIPPET: “China’s military is conducting extensive cyber warfare and spying operations through several electronic intelligence units, including a group identified for the first time called Beijing North Computing Center, according to a new report by a private research group.

“Chinese cyber espionage poses an advanced persistent threat to U.S. national and economic security,” states the report, set for publication Friday.

The report by the Project 2049 Institute, an Arlington, Va.-based think tank that focuses on Asian security issues, concluded that groups operating from Chinese territory have been “waging a coordinated cyber espionage campaign targeting U.S. government, industrial, and think tank computer networks.””

SNIPPET: “PETALING JAYA: Al-Qaeda’s “official” website was registered at an address in Kuala Lumpur.”

SNIPPET: “But that won’t be the end of the portal: counter terrorism experts say it is al-Qaeda’s strategy to have its websites and forums hosted in one country and move to another when detected.

Tawhed.net described in a United States Military Academy report as “al-Qaeda’s main online library” contained a message from Ayman Al Zawahiri, al-Qaeda’s current leader following the death of Osama bin Laden, and featured interviews with detained terrorist suspects.”

“German Islamists Target Youth on the Internet” By Christoph Sydow 11/01/2012

“Translated from the German by Christopher Sultan.”

PHOTO CAPTION: “A growing community of German-speaking Islamists has developed on the Internet. Aiming to find new recruits, they glorify jihad and call for attacks on Germany. A new study warns that such online propaganda might foster a new generation of terrorists.”

SNIPPET: “International terrorist groups like al-Qaida recognized the importance of the Internet for recruiting new supporters early on.”

SNIPPET: “Intelligence services can also take advantage of the anonymity of Internet forums to deliberately plant false information or obtain insider information.”
