If You Can Eat It, Buy It Now Because It'll Be More Expensive In A Month

Bruce Krasting, My Take On Financial Events
Sep. 14, 2012, 8:10 PM

The most significant market adjustment since Bernanke used the “Unlimited” word is not in stocks, bonds or PMs. It’s in inflation expectations. Have a look at this chart. Focus on the incredible spike in the past 24-hours.

The 10-Year Breakeven Spread

The sick part of this is that if Bernanke saw this graph, he would cry with tears of happiness. This is exactly what he was praying for. Ben thinks that inflation is a good thing. That it will cause demand to be pulled forward as people realize that things are going to cost more tomorrow than they do today.

I suspect Ben is right. Higher inflation expectations in the US will filter around the globe. Post the extraordinary steps Ben took yesterday, people will be stocking up on “stuff”. Things like rice, flour, cooking oil, soy, wheat and sugar. If you can eat it, buy it now. It will be more expensive in a month. While you're at it, fill up the gas tank, the price is going up next week and every week for the next few months.

Ben doesn’t care about that stuff. He ignores this altogether. Maybe he’s right, after all, food and energy are really not so important to the 7Bn folks who happen to be passing through this decade, right?

Some day the history books will study this period of time and ponder how so many people gave up control of key elements in their lives without ever having a say in the outcome. How could one person have gotten so powerful?

If it’s non-perishable and you use it, buy it now. Even if you don’t eat it. (imo)

This is exactly what he was praying for. Ben thinks that inflation is a good thing.

People are going to buy food and lots of it - but nothing else. Everything else will go bust.

Democrats, no matter how many times they fail, still think if you throw someone elses money at a problem, it'll go away.

Inflation has to happen !!!

It is the only housing will recover - which is a huge economic driver.

People have student loans over $100K - without inflation these loans will never get paid back.

The federal debt is MASSIVE and the the only way that will be put back in balance is raising more money and that won’t happen without big inflation.

It has got to happen - it is just a matter of time. Really the only thing probably holding it back is all the regulations and rules the federal government is laying down.

Prior to the 1st WTC bombing, 9/11, and the attempted subway bombing in NYC which was finally stopped in 2009, you had orchestrated recessions.

All three of these attacks were intended as attacks against the economy.

Also prior to each these attacks the left ginned up civil unrest.

Three times, it's no longer a coincidence.

When you have an orchestrated recession and the left is ginning up civil unrest, there is a major terrorist attack in the works.

Since the real civil unrest wont take place until after Zippo is defeated and Romney is accused of “stealing the election”, it's clear the attack wont take place until after Romney is in office where they can claim “Romney knew”.

The idea is to get Black Militants to team up with the terrorist.

The left is fulfilling their 50 year wet dream of a race war as a path to absolute power.

What Bernanke calls “quantitative easing” is what Lyndon Johnson did during the Vietnamese War. Then it was called “expanding the money supply,” really “flooding the money supply.” Its most significant effect is inflation.

There is a clearer way to track common commodities:

http://money.cnn.com/data/commodities/

Use the chart at the top to select the commodity and the period of 1 month or 1 year. It gives perspective on a particular item, like corn, wheat, coffee, etc.

This gives you “lead time”, if say a particular commodity spikes up, you likely have several days of lower prices in the stores. Unleaded gasoline is the big exception because they raise prices *quickly*, so you have to be on the ball to fill your tanks before the jump.

Because 54% of the sheep voted them in.

Anybody that has followed the commodity market the last two days can see it coming. Buy in bulk non-perishable items NOW.

My long term food is bought but need to add to grocery store food. I've been buying some every time I go to grocery, but need to buy more before this new wave of inflation hits. These purchases are not just food but household goods as well, like paper towels, more toilet paper, dishwashing liquid to use for dishes and washing clothes by hand, those kinds of goods.

I don't know what these middle east attacks against our country will mean to our economy. Oil prices are already going up due to that chaos.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of those Islamist kooks manage to pull off a terrorist attack in this country soon. Then, there is the possibility Israel will attack Iran in the next several weeks. What will that cause to happen in the world and in our country? It's possible world war could start.

I have said in an prepper article I wrote for a survival website, that we need to be prepared to create our own individual world when the larger world collapses. That is the purpose for prepping - create your world so you have what you need and can survive and be fairly comfortable no matter what is happening out in the larger world.

Someone the other day described what’s happening perfectly; they said it’s like being in a car wreck you are driving along you see a car coming at you he’s not stopping for the red light there’s no place for you to go you know for sure he is going to hit you and then everything slows down like a scene from some action movie the car coming seems to be crawling you can even see the surprise on the other drivers face. When he hits you the flying glass seems to hang in the air for a second and all the time there ain’t a damn thing you can do, but pray you survive.

Personally I we will see something much like the collapse of Argentina ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index )but on a global scale.

As far as the election either way it goes I believe we will soon see social unrest, the closer the election gets the more things will become like walking a mine field and a miss step and things can and will exploded.

Despite the CDC’s tongue and cheek presentation for National Preparedness Month, there really are Zombies, just not the kind from George A. Romero films. They have been fed from the Government’s stash and walked among us for years now and many have been caught on film, but it was in a movie it was for real:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JtPLyYpyyA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4F8ob9nlfY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2Ykj92c9v8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnpqBb_7PJ4

These and many more like events show (Flash Mobs, OWS, etc) that we have a large entitlement minded population that is violent prone. I think that during a collapse you will see many small businesses wiped out by flash mob looting, and once started it will quickly spread to rape, robbery and murder for murder sake. You will see what I call ‘pocket pogroms’ and if you ain’t ‘Amish’ you better not be around when they come.

I am very much in agreement of the author of this article about what we can look forward to:

When The Music Stops – How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2926391/posts

Many of these ‘zombies’ will think no more about killing you to get ‘stuff’ than zombies in the lastest horror flick and do it just as gruesomely as any of the worse scenes in those same movies.

Many of you who have read my post know I often refer to this quote from Star Trek Deep Space Nine: “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Siege of AR-558 (#7.8)” (1998)

Quark: “Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They’re a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don’t believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.”

It has repeated been shown throughout history that this is what happens to people once placed under such stressful conditions and yet you would be surprised how many people don’t realize the transformations that can take place under such conditions. And because of their ignorance many won’t even live long learn.

If you want to learn what happens I suggest you read some of Selco’s firsthand experiences in Bosnia:

A Survival Q & A: Living Through SHTF In The Middle Of A War Zone

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2798007/posts

Clearly there’s a storm coming, as great as a hurricane and like you do when a hurricane comes your way you either prepare to weather it or you become a victim of it.

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.
Underestimation can be fatal.”
