CBS Still Claiming Obama's 'You Didn't Build That' Was About Infrastructure

Detroit has lots of roads and bridges.

Even so, who built all those roads and bridges before the federal gov’t started bloating?

That’s right, local citizens.

I guess we can even say the roads were started by the deer and their hunters as they foraged in the woods.

Such tactics are a part of the reason CBS is losing market share hand over fist. :)

Hey Prez...where are all those other smart, hard workin' people? If startin' a business is so EZ, why aren't more people doing it?

Regardless of how it is parsed or interpretted, this was a dumb and (hopefully) damaging thing to say:

"You didn't build that!" Meaning 'your company'. This is an insult on its face. Many entrepreneurs have built business without the help of goverment, the enabling of government, or as the result of government central planning.

"You didn't build that!" Meaning the roads, infrastructure, etc. Many businesses are forced to pay for infrastructure in order to build a new business site - upgrade water, sewer, curbs, intersection lights, street lights - as well as pay impact fees to schools and park districts. Where does Barry think he gets his money to be able to pick winners and losers? It is OUR money, not HIS money.

We are all supposed to take the attitude that 'your boss is corrupt and greedy and we need to hurt him as much as we can' to the point that he can no longer employ people. We are also led to believe that the Unions (and Union-influenced government officials) would rather have ZERO union jobs than ANY non-union jobs as a winning combination to create jobs.

Love jobs but hate job creators is a stupid premise to run on, but Mr. Soetoro seems to have a vast following.

Bingo. The MSM "news" for the last few months until November will all have been disguised campaign ads.

So what if his comment was about infrastructure. Either way he was elevating the role that government played in small business success over the entrepreneur's intelligence and hard work (two factors which he explicitly ridiculed).

So even if you concede that point (which I don't), he was still insulting small business owners, basically calling them delusional if they thought that they were essential to their own success.

BTW, while he mocked intelligence and hard work, he never mentioned the attribute of small business owners which is likely even more essential to their success: their willingness to risk and commit one's time an resources into an long-term effort, with no guarantees from others of a future reward - no government handouts, no union contracts, no tenure. They commit these resources based on their faith in their own abilities to build a successful business, not based on anyone else making that happen.

We all know this is a lie---but even if it were true that Zero was referring to "infrastructure," GOVERNMENT didn't built that until the early 20th century.

Throughout much of the 1800s, private individuals and companies built roads, canals, and bridges (can you say Andrew Carnegie???)

CBS provides free propaganda for King Soetoro. Who needs to worry about campaign finance when you have a free press as your PR lapdog?

Lets be clear here!!!.....”We the People” (taxpayers) built EVERY DAMN road, school, bridge,or what have you in this country!......The government has no MONEY!....you name it...WE built it!....WE paid for it...our labor.....GET IT NOW????

If democrats didn't feed CBS news stories and people to interview, the CBS News would be about 4 minutes long. They need NEED Democrats. How many elites at CBS News even know one 'everyday' American? (Which by the way is why it's so easy to fool them...)

it was "clear" that when President Obama utttered his infamous "you didn't build that", he was talking about "teachers and infrastructure."

The “you didn't build that” was the least offensive line in what Obama said. His dripping arrogance and the words he said before that line were much worse.
The “you didn't build that” probably specifically did refer to roads.
But it summed up perfectly what Obama said overall in regards to people building a business on their own.

But I want to be fair to Obama supporters. I hope and want them to turn out and vote on November 7th so their opinions are fully expressed.

Those of us who have worked for or built small businesses know EXACTLY what he said!!!

CBS is only putting more nails into their own coffin over their support at all costs of the Liar-In Chief.

Since Barry wasn’t born in the USA nor educated in the USA, he sure doesn’t know about the history of the USA.

They can claim anything they want. We heard what he said in the context that he said it. We know what it meant.
They can claim anything they want. They are not changing anything.
The statement came from a communist mentality. It is socialist in every way. It was meant to propagandize people that you can’t do anything without goavernment. It was wasted. The country knows that that is not true. People built businesses without government interference. They will do it again.
