Obama and Ryan have tangled repeatedly (get mo popcorn)

But Mr. Ryan has shown he’s not shy about firing back at the president, bringing both budget numbers and sharp rhetoric to the fight.

“Rather than building bridges, he’s poisoning wells,” the usually mild-mannered Mr. Ryan said. “Exploiting people’s emotions of fear, envy and anxiety is not hope; it’s not change. It’s partisanship. We don’t need partisanship. We don’t need demagoguery. We need solutions. And we don’t need to keep punting to other people to make tough decisions.”

Mr. Ryan’s first go-around with Mr. Obama came even before he became Budget Committee chairman. He was one of the Republicans invited to the White House for the 2010 summit on health care, and in six minutes sliced apart the math behind Democrats’ plans, arguing they didn’t meet the president’s own goals of cost-cutting.

Republicans feel the Ryan pick gives them an edge.

“Obama thinks he is smart and in command of the facts. Ryan actually is,” said Mike McKenna, a GOP strategist.

In tapping Mr. Ryan, Mr. Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has turned the election from a referendum on Mr. Obama’s economic record into a choice between two dramatically divergent views of the government’s spending and taxes.

It also instantly elevates this year’s election beyond the name-calling and accusations of recent weeks, and gives both sides something substantive to debate.....

Not only does he get under Obozo’s skin, but also it will be so much fun to watch the Ryan-Biden debate. Gaffetastic Joe-the-Dope will implode.

Wow, Mr. Ryan (future Vice President Ryan?) really nailed the Democrats and so-called "liberals" - especially hussein - to the wall with this one. That is exactly what they have all been doing for years. hussein has just elevated it by wedging a mountain of lies underneath it.

Paul Ryan is Obama’s worst feaking nightmare. He is everything that Obama pretends to be but is not. This would include intellect, honesty, love of country and the embrace of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I am voting for Paul Ryan. Win or lose, I think Paul Ryan is going places and has an edgy, confrontational attitude while slamming the purveyors of buIIshate - Obama and Biden.

Pass the popcorn! Ryan 2012!

I just watched the video on YT (courtesy of FOX News) where Ryan schooled Zero on his healthcare. You could tell Zero was zoned out - he had a faster-than-normal blink rate. He really did not want to hear what Ryan was saying, and he sure didn't want the American public to hear it)!

"I am voting for Paul Ryan."

I was considering voting for Johnson, and then voting R down ticket -- New Jersey is going for Zero no matter what -- but I'll crawl to the polls over burning embers to vote for Ryan.

I need a yard sign that says:

ABO/RYAN 2012

That would truly reflect my feelings on this ticket. Go Ryan! Drag Romney to the right. You can do it!

Obama is not intellectually equipped to spar with someone who has a command of the English language, is sane and conservative, and has not been bought off or intimidated into submission. Obama is comprised of meaningless words and selfish thoughts - all bolstered by a teleprompter filled with words composed by some other fascist populist

New Jersey is going for Zero no matter what

True, but Monmouth County consistently votes Republican.

Shaping up a battle of sharp contrasts:

Intellectual heavyweights vs celebrity cognitive lightweight and gaffe machine
Individual freedoms vs collectivism
Orientation toward higher aspirations vs pandering to lowest common denominator
United America vs the divisive left
