Friend --
Paul Ryan will be Mitt Romney's running mate.
What you need to know right now: This election is about values, and today Romney doubled down on his commitment to take our country back to the failed policies of the past.
Congressman Paul Ryan is best known as the author of a budget so radical The New York Times called it "the most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress in modern times." With Mitt Romney's support, Ryan would end Medicare as we know it and slash the investments we need to keep our economy growing -- all while cutting taxes for those at the very top.
Over the next few days, Romney's campaign and its allies will tell a very different story about Paul Ryan.
Our job is to make sure Americans know the truth about what Romney's choice says about him as a candidate and leader, and to stand with President Obama and Vice President Biden at another major moment in this campaign.
Say you're with them:

Thanks for all you're doing. More to come.

“the failed policies of the past” Those would be George Bush’s policies........ right?
It only took the Obama White House a few minutes to respond to the Ryan pick along the lines of we regret that Romney has chosen to sacrifice seniors and the middle class to preserve the perks of the rich with this VP choice. I think the comments went over the head of the Dems comic book constituency. They are lining up the wheel chairs and blue haired ladies for a group action photo at the side of the cliff to make sure it registers with their dullard constituency.Ryan is an excellent in your face choice. The Republicans just have to keep repeating the mantra that It does not affect anyone over age 55 until it registers. After a while the wheel chairs and cliffs will get old
What Romney and Ryan need to talk about is the failed policies of the present.
Remember how Obama treated Ryan like a little kid who was being allowed to sit at the grownup table back when he held that sham of a “bipartisan budget meeting”? I’m sure Paul Ryan does, and as the “attack dog” for the Romney campaign he’s earned the right to show just how brilliant the man-child President really is.
This is going to be good!
I do not understand why the Repubs haven't jumped on this phrase which is used by every Liberal. Notice that there is no claim that Ryan's plan would END Medicare. The caveat is always carefully added by the Libs. Of course, Ryan's plan would end Medicare "as we know it". As we know it, Medicare will go bust in a decade and if we don't do something about it NOW, there will be no Medicare at all. "as we know it" it is a failing, if not failed, program which must be saved for our children's future, etc, etc, etc!
“Failed policies of the past.” Jim Messina, and anyone else reciting that mantra, got it exactly, perfectly right. The policies of the past three years have most certainly failed. BIG time!
... and they should add that obamacare effectively de-funds Medicare.
More unemployment, more gas price increases, more class warfare, more food stamps, more voter fraud, more divisiveness, more crony capitalism, more socialism, more extreme left-wing Justices, more "get-out-of-jail-free" cards for New Black Panther thugs, more kowtowing to our enemies, more abandonment of our allies, more excuses, more lies, more pure unadulterated bullshit. I can hardly wait, Messina.
There is is, the Obama campaign strategy. They are going to hammer Romney on picking Ryan who tried to cut Medicare.
It's why I warned he shouldn't pick Ryan. Not that I'm going to vote for either Romney or Obama.
If we were to examine the policies of the “past”...can it not be said with a high level of accuracy that the current policies of the Obunghole Regime go back to the failed policies of the Bolsheviks?
Talk about failed policies of the past.
How utterly predictable, banal, and childish:
* failed policies of the past
* most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress
* end Medicare as we know it
* slash the investments we need to keep our economy growing
* cutting taxes for those at the very top
I predicted they would use these points in another post about an hour ago (except I forgot Medicare).
And the simple answer is "As we know it, Medicare has been transformed into a government giveaway plan filled with waste, fraud, abuse, and moral hazard. Of course I intend to end Medicare as we know it, and return to Medicare as your parents knew it - a safety net rather than a hammock."
FUBO and FU Jim Messina!
Bush legitimized the absurd liberal "stimulus" concept. Obama applied it to the maxiumum degree. With predictable results.
Reagan implemented long term structural reforms to reduce government's burden on the economy. Ryan's plan does the same.
Finally, a true economic growth agenda!
Give 'em hell, Romney/Ryan. Go over the heads of the media right to the American people, as Reagan did!
Paul Ryan needs to use @iowahawkblog’s line: “You know what will end Medicaid as we know it? Medicaid as we know it.” #gop #tcot #tlot
I doubt Romney can use that, because it's too horrible to contemplate. But it's true.
