HBO did not respond to our request for comment, but as outrage mounted Wednesday, they released a statement saying they were "deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste." HBO also said the scene would be removed from future DVD pressings.

Bush in a grisly decapitation scene for its hit drama "Game of Thrones." The tenth episode of the first season of "Game of Thrones," now out on DVD, features the younger Bush's head on a stake. Commentary on the DVD notes that his head appears in a "couple of beheading scenes." The show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss stated that George W. Bush's was used as physical inspiration to create a head for a scene in which King Joffrey shows Sansa Stark her... |

Bush on a pike and said the scene will be removed from future DVD releases, the Web site io9.com reported. ... The last head on the left is George Bush, the producers say in the audio commentary. George Bushs head appears in a couple beheading scenes. Its not a choice, its not a political statement. Its just, we had to use what heads we had around. |

The producers say itâs not political and that they used him just because they happened to have a spare Bush head lying around (what?), but Gothamist wants so badly to believe that it's a Gesture Of Defiance towards our deposed Hitler that I almost hope for their sake that it's deliberate. The perfunctory denial: HBO responded to CBSNewYork.comÂs request for comment on Wednesday night, offering the following statement from Benioff and Weiss:ÂWhat happened was this: we use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We canÂt afford to have these all made from scratch,... |

Bush's severed head in several scenes. In the tenth episode of the first season, Mr Bush's decapitated head is seen impaled on a wooden spike, covered in filthy long hair and slathered in dirt. Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who noted the appearance in the series' DVD commentary, insist it wasn't a political statement - just a prop. But the image has provoked outrage among some Republican politicians. |

Are you a Greyjoy, a Stark, a Lannister, a Baratheon or a Targaryen? With only five days to go before the Season Two premiere of political fantasy epic "Game of Thrones," HBO has aired five new TV spots asking viewers to "pledge their allegiance" to one of the five houses. Let’s see the picture...I don’t want to have to go wading for it.
Extremely glad to say I have never given one cent to HBO.
They can stick their own heads on a pike and shove it up Bamster’s puckered a$$hole for all I care.
But did you see that thread about “Game of Thrones”?
If you or I depicted the murder of a sitting or living ex president, we could expect an uncomfortable visit from the Secret Service, at best.
I wonder which executive at HBO will be getting a visit\sarc
But,,, but,,
According to the "Left" it is "WE" that are the evil ones.
"They" only consider that "They" are the truly intelligent, thinkers, and most moral on the face of the earth.
Guess it is more a matter of perspective and sense of reality as to who "Really and Truly deceive themselves" and those that actually "Are" superior thinkers and moralists.
I know a guy, who knows a guy who used to steal HBO but would never pay for it, especially now.
Because putting a turd on a stick would be bad taste, indeed.
I too have never given anti-American HBO a cent directly...except for often seeing it in motel rooms.
John Leboutillier wrote a book called Harvard Hates America. His follow up should be HBO Hates America.
Ping.
Yet this is the first I’ve seen of this story.
so we should expect them to show an 0bama look a like on a pike next season... right?
didn’t think so
The books are great — and none of this is on the author, George R. R. Martin. One of the strongest features of the book is that few of the leading characters are either pure evil or pure goodness (unlike in, say, Lord of the Rings). As putative rulers, each has strengths and weaknesses (to say the least!). I want to believe that Martin would not have approved of such cheap shots against Bush, or any other political figure.
I started watching the HBO show, because I liked the books so much. In fact, I subscribed to HBO for the sole purpose of watching the Game of Thrones. The series is about as good as any book-to-movie adaptation. This demented Bush hatred taints it all for me.
One saving grace for me — as I only subscribe to HBO for 10 weeks/year, I've gotten a promotional half-price deal each year. This year, the deal ran out the day after G.O.T. ended.
You better post it another dozen times, then.
I don’t recall Bush’s hair looking like that....
