The books are great — and none of this is on the author, George R. R. Martin. One of the strongest features of the book is that few of the leading characters are either pure evil or pure goodness (unlike in, say, Lord of the Rings). As putative rulers, each has strengths and weaknesses (to say the least!). I want to believe that Martin would not have approved of such cheap shots against Bush, or any other political figure.
I started watching the HBO show, because I liked the books so much. In fact, I subscribed to HBO for the sole purpose of watching the Game of Thrones. The series is about as good as any book-to-movie adaptation. This demented Bush hatred taints it all for me.
One saving grace for me — as I only subscribe to HBO for 10 weeks/year, I've gotten a promotional half-price deal each year. This year, the deal ran out the day after G.O.T. ended.
Oh, such hypocrisy. So you’re turned away by a political figure’s head on stick (whom it doesn’t even look like) but not by the nudity, sex scenes, incest, rape, child murder, or child rape? I suggest you take a step back and think about what you just said you babbling moron.
As for the rest of the idiots who haven’t even seen the show, watched the scene, or viewed the picture I laugh at you. You ramble about the injustice of something you’ve never even seen. The funniest part is, it doesn’t even slightly resemble him!
“Oh, if it was Obama they would of been upset!” To that I say that they would have to be just as immature as you are. To take a scene half-a-second long and blow it up into a controversy like this is outrageous.
“HBOs ‘Game of Thrones’ parades President George W. Bushs decapitated head on a stick” is amusing. It shows just how ignorant FOX News is and gives me very good reason to never trust a single article on the site. Pitiful. I’m ashamed to call myself a Republican now.
To conclude my ‘rant’, I’ll leave you a piece of advice: grow up.
