Dear Mayor Bloomberg -- Just wanted you to know -- my husband and I have cancelled our reservations for NYC for next week due to your ridiculous coddling of the OWS group. We don't want to caught in the chaos that you seem to want to coexist with, and we don't want to give our money to help pay for the services you all are providing to allow the campers to run the show. Every parent knows that you have to stop temper tantrums immediately or they will escalate. You are making a farce of your fair city.
Good for you. My extended family has planned on taking a big trip to NYC next summer but no way would we make plans to go visit now. Who knows what the parasite class will be doing when the weather gets warm.
Now thinking about a family cruise, instead.
I stay away from there as much as possible. dems at work and play.
Maybe mikey will do something when he gets his pants back from the women he is living with and then takes off the dress is now wearing.
I can’t stand Bloomberg. He is a pompos little dictator who picks on conservatives and lets people like this push him around.
I think you can find a much better, more patritotic place to visit than New York City. Try The Yorktown Penninsula in Virginia, Gettysburg, PA or Ticonderoga in upstate New York.
Why would anyone want to travel to New York.
It’s dirty, overpiced and run my a little dictator in a dress.
Well, if you were going to drive into Manhattan, maybe opposed the Ground Zero mosque or were going to put salt in your food, he wouldn’t want you there.
Its dirty, overpriced and run my a little dictator in a dress.”
Agreed. I live about 50 miles from the city and I hardly ever go there. It is dirty, you have rude people, smelly people and — the ultimate NYC experience — people walking down the street arguing loudly with themselves! The last time I went was about 5 year ago when I had guests from Germany.
Who in their right mind would want to go to NYC when there are fire-bombing, pedophiliac, defecating, anti-American, Communist, rapists calling the shots in that city?
Will the new tourist merch have “I ‘heart’ New York” tchotchkes with a black heart symbolizing hate?
Dear bboop,
I don’t give a rats behind whether you come to NYC or not. Besides, I love rats.
Yours truly,
Mayor Bloomberg
My note to Mayor Bloomberg is a DFlat.
Many wonderful American vacation spots and resorts are hurting big time. Why are too many Americans still trying so hard to give their vacation money to foreign countries, islands and foreign businesses???
If you're looking for tropical-ness, try the gorgeous Hawaiian Isles cruise and keep your expendable dollars within the 50 states. The cruise line may be of foreign registry, but ashore you'll be patronizing American citizens for the most part.
Or perhaps a cruise up to scenic Alaska? Fascinating stuff. My grandma always said "Keep the money in the family!:
I believe in America First during these days of depression for American businesses. WE'VE GOT TO PATRONIZE AMERICAN BUSINESSES AND KEEP THEM ALIVE AND GOING till the anti-American, anti-business, anti-capitalism monster is gone from the White House! Most people don't know or don't care what's happening to medium and small businesses today. They don't even notice the shuttered shops all over their Main Streets and strip malls.
Our business folk, many of whom are our neighbors and family members...even fellow freepers, are depending on us and praying to God for our patronage. THINK, PEOPLE, THINK!
P.S.....I include the Peoples' Republics of New York City and Californicate as destinations that should not be on ANYONE'S vacation list. Let them suffer a while longer from the effects of their stupidity and brainless liberalism.
If anyone has any ideas for a great vacation trip or location where dollars spent by the family would help American entrepeneurs facing Obama-bankruptcy, post 'em here.
LET'S ALL PULL TOGETHER TO KEEP THE STRUGGLING BUSINESSES ON OUR MAIN STREET, IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND IN OUR FIFTY STATES FROM DISASTER!
We have to do this ourselves....the DC commies and big government can't and won't!

It's depressing to me to see such ignorant comments on FR.
I go into the City frequently. I never see people "arguing loudly with themselves." I rarely encounter rude or smelly people. (Really, how close do you get to people to smell them?)
Some parts of NYC are dirty, I'm sure, but generally not the places I go to or through. (This includes Times Square several times a month.) I guess if you go looking for them, you'll be sure to find them.
There are only a few places in the United States that have world class anything, and New York has most of them: museums, restaurants, theater, fashion, symphony, opera, etc.

But, I'm just a rube that lives in “flyover country” and doesn't appreciate the obviously superior people who populate NYC. These are same people that wonder if they need a visa stamp in their passports to visit New Mexico or Tennessee, think there are 57 states like Barry said, and think New Jersey is a foreign country. Manhattanites are so narrow and isolated from reality it boggles the mind, yet they glory in their ignorance. Away from NYC, visiting “New Yawkers” are insufferable boors.

Apparently, you don’t enter NY via the Port Authority or use the Subway. I do have to admit, when I go I usually go downtown and don’t hang around the tourist areas or the theater district.
Actually, I do it all the time. I'll do it tomorrow. The reason I see Times Square is that I usually walk above ground in good weather to get from the PABT to the BMT.
