By over 40 years’ behavioral observations of the dwellers therein and personal experiences with New Yawkers since then. NYC is an acquired taste; OK for some and not others. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now (and I don't like Boston or Chicago or Los Angeles or San Francisco, either). I've been to all and it's personal preference. You are most welcome to NYC (or any of the others). Some of us like large metro areas, but I do not.
