According to the survey, which was released Monday, 28 percent of Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say they support Perry as their party's presidential nominee, with Romney at 21 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is at ten percent, with Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, who's making his third bid for the White House, former Godfather's Pizza CEO and radio talk show host Herman Cain, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, all at seven percent. The poll indicates that Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is at four percent, with former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania at three percent and former Utah Gov. and ambassador to China Jon Huntsman at one percent.

Bovine Scatology. Rick Perry was talking directly to the audience. I was there.
I know that they’re fleeing horrible conditions but imagine if we had used the money spent on them here to help them build their country. It would benefit all of us because we’d have another strong, reliable trading partner (as we do with Canada) and a more prosperous America. Their families would not have to be split, they wouldn’t have the treacherous conditions they encounter just to make it here, they would be able to take pride in their country and in the long run it free up funds that our country desperately needs.

It appears I wasn't the only one who was scolded and called heartless by the Texas governor...
Perry Plummets to 18%, Trails Cain For Lead Among GOP Primary Voters
They will go after Romney immense fortune and show that he is too rich to connect with the average working citizen and feel their pain.
They may even use fake conservative groups to go after Romney on his liberal social issues and this way they can further depress the conservative base which is not excited about Romney to begin with and will never be. Remember that Bush in 2000 lost millions of evangelical voters in the last weekend before the elections because a DUI issue he has when he was 20 years old and which was deemed immoral by the religious folks, now imagine how they are going to very negatively react on Romney liberal positions on abortion and gay marriage.
People on our side who think that Romney is the most electable have not thought it through at all.
PS: Why has he Left not attacked Romney if he is very dangerous for them and has better chance of beating Obama? I guess the answer for this is very clear.
So the 3 CNN viewers that would vote Republican prefer Romney - this is a surprise?
I am sorry to read that but Cain is good, too.
We’ll see how it all works out..It’s early days yet.
What does that have to do with issue at hand? The issue was in-state tuition of the children of illegals. That does NOT cost the taxpayer a cent. Universities and colleges make a good profit even when someone is paying in-state tuition.

So what? It's not costing a taxpayer a cent to give them in-state tuition. It's likely resulting in higher enrollment and more profit to the colleges and universities. And, in-state tuition for their children is not the reason illegals come to the nation.
It's a meaningless issue and the legislation would have been adopted over any veto by Perry anyway.
I and others have had enough of people like your tearing down candidates are 80 or more percent conservative and, in the process, paving the way the McCains and Romneys to win the GOP nomination.
If Reagan were running today, you'd be attacking him in the same you're going after Perry.
Yeah, and if Fred Thompson loses the 2008 primaries, the next President will be Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani.
::yawn::
You and others are attempting to claim there is no impact to taxpayers, I’m saying there is.
Did you look at the pie chart that shows where TX gets its education funding?
How is not building more facilities and hiring more teachers to accommodate the illegals not going to impact the taxpayers of both TX and the USA?
Or is it like I posited in the rest of my post, it’s a “zero sum game” where TX kids get left out to make room for illegals?
What this also does is put illegal kids on even footing with TX kids whose parents paid into the system for years while the illegals didn’t. They’re not vested into the system. They get to take out of it something that others have paid, are paying and will pay for.
Again with the illegals jumping into the middle or into the front of the line ahead of Americans.
It’s BS.
BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE STATE They should not get to go to school at all unless the tuition is paid for by their home country and they obtain a student visa. Where do you think they get the money? From you and me and all the taxpayers. They up the demand for money and it then costs more.
You are debating the issue in fragments. You must be a politician in training.
IN ADDITION, IF THERE IS GOING TO BE IN-STATE TUITION GIVEN TO ANYONE, IT SHOULD BE TO THE LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE OTHER 49 STATES. FURTHER, MOST OF THE ILLEGALS GET SCHOOL BASED HELP WHICH ALSO SHOULD GO TO LEGAL RESIDENTS.
No more will I hold my nose when I vote....No matter what I will vote Cain even if I write in.
Perry and Romney both RINO’s and so is Christi... RNC is afraid of Cain
“”Why should we be picking up the tab for their society instead of deporting its invaders back to where they belong?”
Find me one major candidate calling for the round-up and deportation of all illegals.”
All I can say on that matter is the Feds are not up to the task, too many illegal aliens have infiltrated the United States and there are too few feds to keep track of them. They already lost the ball.
Our States collectively can make a difference in terms of getting local and State police forces on the look out. But ultimately the game is going to invoke making their stay here uncomfortable and unprofitable. Some States like Georgia are successfully attacking the problem, others of course aren’t even trying, while all of them are having to fight with the feds to get anything done.
The Feds need to start cooperating and stop fighting our own States for trying to do the job THEY made necessary in the first place.
If they are fleeing such horrible conditions, why do the 400 thousand who live right across the border in Nogales, Sonora and walk across the line at will not come here?
It is not as horrible as the cunning politicians who want votes and the greedy employers who want cheap labor say it is and have trained the illegal crossers to say it is.
Has anybody looked at the internals in this poll?
I’ll bet it was taken both before and after the Fla. debate.
The Zogby which was only after the Debate has Cain with a big lead over Perry and Romney.
Tough monkey bits, NOOB. The last RINO President from Texas was a disaster, we don't want another one.
I have had enough of BOTS like you worshiping lousy candidates. This is a place for the truth, not your talking points.
I am sick of this false BS with Romney/Perry. Perry is closer to Romney than he is Reagan and not a single vote has been cast yet. Even if your dichotomy was true that is no reason to sugarcoat Rick's mediocrity and worship him like he's your football hero or some such BS. Republicans and rats alike need to be view objectively.
Most people here will support him if he's the nominee but coronating this loser is a horrible idea.
