According to the survey, which was released Monday, 28 percent of Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say they support Perry as their party's presidential nominee, with Romney at 21 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is at ten percent, with Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, who's making his third bid for the White House, former Godfather's Pizza CEO and radio talk show host Herman Cain, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, all at seven percent. The poll indicates that Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is at four percent, with former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania at three percent and former Utah Gov. and ambassador to China Jon Huntsman at one percent.

Ladies and gentlemen of the conservative movement, of the Republican party; we see the establishment stacking the deck. They give us a “choice” between a stuttering, stammering fool who insults 81% of the electorate or Mitt Romney and expect us to see this as an actual choice. The bastards. What the hell have they done to this movement, the party, this nation?

In the primary I beg you, vote for jobs. Vote for a steady hand. Vote for a REAL conservative that can string three coherent sentences together and lay out what conservatism is without drooling on himself.

Vote your heart. Vote Herman Cain.

Yes, we all know what CNN and the MSM and the GOP elitists think of their GOP Pick-Romney. He will suffer a deathly dirth of conservative votes and lose in the primaries, or in the real election, either way He’s a loser.

Perry, in my book is toast.

It breaks down to 59 percent for conservatives, 22 percent for establishment RINOs and 7 percent for libertarian ideologues. I guess there are some undecideds & others in there.

Perry didn't have a good night. I'm fully aware of that. However, we are in a recession, and a bad one at that. Unemployment is in double digits. The housing market is dead. The stock market is on a rollercoaster. Deficits are through the roof. We have 3 wars going on right now. We have Obamacare. We have a president trying to skyrocket taxes.

The point I'm trying to make is that people don't CARE about Texas' requirements for in-state tuition. That is a non-issue, as any poll of issues will show you. And whether a Vietnamese student pays in-state or out-of-state tution is of no consequence on the rest of America.

Perry did botch an attack on Romney, but that didn't do anything discount the record of Texas during this turd of an economy. We're creating jobs down here, and that's what people will focus on.

Truthfully, it appears that Newt is breaking out of the pack. He has done well in recent debate performances. I am surprised he is at 10% versus practically nothing a few weeks ago.

What? Did he purposefully not mention 'Callista' (for once)? Or, did he say he can't make the next debate because 'Callista' wants to go on a cruise after hitting Tiffany's? He was my congressman for years - I wouldn't vote for him if he were the nominee.

The vicious attacks don't make me go hmmmmmm. I understand them too well. Perry is under attack in a desperate effort to put Humpty Romney back together again. Romney's not the front runner any more. He's got a serious competitor on his right and his only chance to win is to take that competitor out.

Bachmann and Santorum are Romney's allies. Romney can't attack Perry from the right but they can. They do it for him, either because they have a delusional belief that they can be serious conservative candidates or because they have some understanding with Romney.

Attacks on Perry from the right create a great disturbance in the conservative force because many of us are disappointed that fate is forcing us to settle for Perry. Many wanted Sarah and the bitter disappointment makes them susceptible to the attacks on Perry. All the disappointment boils up and expresses itself as fury.

This too shall pass. Romney can't benefit in the long run by trying to discredit Perry with conservatives. Sooner or later, everyone will notice that we face a binary choice and that Perry, for all his faults, is much closer to the conservative ideal than Romney.

All the attacks are just noise and it will die down soon enough.

What are they going to say when they graduate? “I want to thank Mom and Dad for being dishonest and sneaky and bringing me here for a discounted education on your dime”

The taxpayers aren't paying for their education. They must secure their own funding via private funds or a loan.

Who would be enthused to come out and vote for Romney? Not only the base would be unenthused but independents as well wont be happy. The Republicans are going to nominate another rich, country club Repuclican who’s never had to worry about surviving in the real world.

The media and the Democrats are drooling over this scenario.

I really, really think Huntsman is about to break out of the pack...

I totally agree. I predict within 2 weeks, Huntsman's poll numbers will TRIPLE, to 3%!

Perry labeled 81% of Americans who disagree with him as "heartless." The inference was that only Perry was Truly Worthy (b/c only he had sucked up to Mexico).In one fell swoop, Perry demeaned Republicans, conservatives and Texas voters who allow him to hold office.

=====================================

BACKSTORY Perry connived his way into the presidential race----and you get the distinct feeling he connived his way into the governor's seat. That steady stream of illegals pouring into Texas tells us native-born Texans don't have much say in Senor Ricky's unbroken string of re/elections. The Texas Dream Act passed 10 years ago when Perry was desperate for votes---as Perry began a curious unbroken string of election wins. Senor Ricky gets away with mucho BS in Texas.

Perry's been described by some Texans as a kind of a Punxsutawney Phil. When it's time for election he's out there, campaigning, pushing all the right Texas buttons. After he's elected, he disappears into his cave until it's time to wake up again.

When he does that disappearing act, big-hearted Rick gets down to the real business of governance----enriching himself. As one Texas FReeper posted: "I live in Texas. Perry’s an embarrassment......an arrogant jerk who thinks the rest of us are heartless if we don’t agree with giving tax dollars to Illegals.......rather than helping actual Americans." Perry's got a lot of skeletons in his closet.

========================================

PERRY SURFACES Perry did not officially enter the Iowa straw poll......but he calculatedly timed throwing his hat into the ring on the same day Bachman won the Iowa straw poll----stomping all over Bachman's hard-won victory. Perry cunningly manipulated the Iowa vote from Texas. That strategy was supposed to put him over the top. Instead he got a pathetic 700-800 write-ins ...while Iowa winners who did the right thing-—spending time and money there-—— got 4000 votes each. The Perrydactyl's were cued to "say" Ricky won Iowa.

And there was Perry---front and center---waving to Iowans, taking pics in front of prominent Iowa banners---manipulating the media to make it look like he was the winner.

The winner in his own mind.

Newt is trending in the right direction.

I'm glad to see it, he's been talking substance and not taking the bait from press.

You are missing the bigger issue.

Rick Perry scolded the conservative viewing audience and called us heartless if we didn't agree with him. No thanks--I'm adult who has been treated like an errant step-child and scolded enough already by the current liberal POTUS. Enough already. I want an adult POTUS who listens to the voters and treats us like the adults he serves.

I am a Perry supporter, but make no mistake about it I would be very satisfied with either Cain or Newt.

But I would never under ANY circumstances vote for Romney.

My feelings on Romney are much deeper than my feelings against McCain ever were, I felt McCain was a traitor to the conservative cause, but with Romney ... wow, seriously there is not 1 major issue I agree with him on, abortion? 2nd amendment? environment? healthcare? gays? taxes? regulation? nope nope nope nope nope. And I know some may have a problem with this, but I could never under any circumstances vote for a Mormon for president.
