Kenneth Melson of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms faces controversy over the agency's surveillance program that allowed U.S. guns into Mexico. He is said to be eager to testify to Congress.
The acting director of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is strongly resisting pressure to step down because of growing controversy over the agency's surveillance program that allowed U.S. guns to flow unchecked into Mexico, according to several federal sources in Washington.

I guess the exit bonus and cushy corporate job weren’t a good enough offer.

If guys like this ever get the kind of government they seek to implement, he would have already been taken out and shot for having gotten caught.

He is said to be eager to testify to Congress. Fine. Hit him with a subpeona and put him under oath.

Why not resist? The lsm isn’t going to prosecute this admin. The greatest threat this country faces is the lsm. Nothing else comes close.

Hang in there buddy, and stick it out!
Every single day that you are chief of this terrible agency, is all the better for those of us who desire to see it defunded and shutdown!

Let him testify, he may hang some of the big boys.
There is no way Holder didn't approve this and it may even lead to Obama, the whole mess is exactly his style.
It is interesting that Rahm Emanuel decided to evacuate just in time.

"He has told them, 'I'm not going to be the fall guy on this.' " Apparently the approval for the program came from higher up. If he doesn't accidentally commit suicide, it may lead to Holder or even higher.

Looks like Obama’s “under the radar” work on gun control is starting to leave some blips on the radar screen.

Hmmm, should I infer he thinks the ATF did nothing wrong? I mean, not illegal?
Of course, if he really wants to talk and can’t get “permission” couldn’t he resign and testify?
At least this story is getting some coverage in LA!

“Nothing else comes close.”
TwoSwords, you gotta remember the teachers’ unions. They are also right up there. Turning out mush-filled heads of much to be beguiled by the MSM in perpetuity.
If we could get rid of these 2 groups this country would flourish!
And, we are working on it; and, we must NEVER give up!

You’re right, the teachers at all levels are high on the list. But the media are the ultimate political police. People talk about the judiciary legislating from the bench but it wouldn’t happen if the media did their job. Nor would the teachers expouse their indoctrination if the media neutrally did their jobs.

At this rate, who is to say that still will not be the case? My money is on full blown police state by 2012 election.
