WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.
The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.
The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.
Huge Pandora’s box has just opened.
they have no right to compel the United States Armed Forces to accept this
sick, just sick
Can the new congress offer a new bill to make it illegal to be a homosexual in the military?
Merry Christmas
As sure as I am that there will be problems, I’m even more certain that we won’t hear about them. No Pentagon stats will be released, or even compiled. Any reported incidents will have any mention of homosexuality washed out.
They think that there are no limits to federal power.
Heterosexual White Christians have no protections whatsoever that SPECIFIES they are to be afforded ANYTHING, so maybe it's time we all became "gay" (on paper)?
1/2 /s
Under Obamacare, we can also claim that being a "sex deviate" is a pre-existing condition? LOL
We are now moving into the Greek and Roman Empire-like collapse phase of our Country.
Disgusting
It is already against the rules, that was the whole point of don't ask, don't tell. Clinton didn't have the guts to make it legit to serve openly gay, so he created this policy which means the rules won't be enforced as long as you lay low. In other words, we won't ask and if you don't tell us as far as we're concerned we know nothing. But if for some reason we do find out, well, you're out. This is what we've had since the 90s.
I hate RINOs.
The numbers WILL be kept, trust me. And anybody who gets in trouble over this will likely be part of a media feeding frenzy immediately.
This will be trouble.

I read where someone said ‘you can’t help who you love’. There is no problem with loving but you don’t have to F everyone you love. The point is getting approval to F not to love. Will the military now permit soldiers to F each other in addition to just asking and telling?
There’s going to be a lot of the gay’s in the military slipping on on a bar of soap, just wait and see.
...”fundamental transformation of America”...
I fear my country just died.
Will not allowing gay soldiers to sleep in the same tent or share a bunk bed amount to discrimination ?
The world's greatest intellectual, Thomas Sowell, Ph.d, warned that there may come a day when the American military just won't take it anymore.
