The Obama administration is backing legislation that includes regulations requiring U.S. businesses to provide to the government data about employee pay as it relates to the sex, race and national origin of employees.
In an orchestrated effort that included a statement by President Barack Obama and an event at the White House featuring Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, the president and his cabinet endorsed the Paycheck Fairness Act.
The House approved the act in 2009, but the Senate did not approve it. In the 111th Congress, both the House and the Senate have offered legislation that covers a wide range of workplace requirements and regulations, including training girls and women to become better at negotiating pay and benefits, and the establishment of a data base of U.S. workers pay in both the public and private sector.
At the White House on Tuesday, Biden was the keynote speaker at a Middle Class Task Force event where he told invited guests that the Obama administration is on the right side of history by passing legislation to ensure women are paid the same as their male counterparts.
Women make up nearly half of all workers on U.S. payrolls, and two-thirds of families with children are headed either by two working parents or by a single parent who works, Biden said.

I was once a federal contractor and had to report minorities.
I reported an Eskimo. I had a real Eskimo for an employee. He had followed his girlfriend back to East Tennessee.
An official from the Atlanta regional office of whatever checks out such things called me and grilled me thoroughly till convinced it was not a joke.

Ummm, the gub’ment already does this, and has for decades. The forms are called the I9, W-2, W-4, and you file your taxes. They know more about you than you know...
I was just about to comment similiarly. Finally got around to getting a copy of Atlas Shrugged last week, I’m about 20% into this (Dagny Taggart just suggested calling her railroad the John Galt Line).
I’m amazed how this 50 year old book parallels what is going on in our country, today and the path we’re headed on.
That is illegal. It will lead to the government closing down businesses because they don’t have the required quotas.
This is because the current user of the oval office is convinced in his racist heart that American businesses are run by racist White men who deliberately refuse to hire anyone who is not “their own kind.”
We're about to go full circle. Because of taxes and regulations the 50s lifestyle is coming back: 50% of the jobs are permanently disappearing. Only this time, as long as Ward and June stay unmarried, they will get food stamps, free cell phones, internet, cable TV, healthcare, and subsidized housing.

Better look closer. On the I9 you must produce certain documents that can be used to derive that information. Drivers license and birth certificate contain that information or the ability to get that information.
Sounds like racial profiling to me.

And these business have preferential hiring of “their own kind,” which means if you are not a member of their tribe you have no chance of getting the government job they are seeking to fill. How this is not blatant discrimination based on race and ethnicity is beyond me.
But we really don't have that option (in most cases), do we?
