As a man, I gladly take less pay than any female counterpart in exchange for more time off to take care of things for my #1 and #2 jobs - Husband and Father. It doesn't bother me a bit. ;-)

But we really don't have that option (in most cases), do we?

Realistically, men have never had that option. Although I have heard that some now try to take that option, it’s really the exception rather than the rule. As I said somewhere else on this thread, I’ve yet to review a resume where a man says he took a few years off to raise his children.
