It's war! Lawyer for DailyKos details lawsuit against Research 2000
The Washington Post ^ | 6/29/2010 | Greg Sargent

Okay, I just got off the phone with a lawyer for DailyKos, and he gave me a bunch of interesting new detail about the lawsuit Kos is going to file against the polling outfit Research 2000.

The gist: This is likely to be a serious lawsuit that is going to flush a lot out into the open, and prompt a serious discussion about what news orgs should be doing to vet polling data they commission.

In case you missed it, DailyKos founder Markos Moulitsas today revealed that he was preparing to sue Research 2000, which Kos has commissioned polling from for years. Kos said a trio of statistics experts dug into their polling and concluded that much of the polling "we ran the past year and a half was likely bunk."

I think it was not all skewed in favor of Obama.

Some good info here: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2010/06/my-own-suspicions-about-research-2000.html

If only Markos and Unknown Jerome had listened to us years ago. Could have saved themselves a few bucks.

will those left wing kooks now wake up and understand they are a very small minority and not a majority now.

I am fed up of hearing of some kook that they think they’re the majority and have no clue that as soon as their back has turned people are laughing at these kooks.

Course I prefer to laugh at them to their face and not once have they ever said anything back but I guess cowards cannot stand up form themselves when they are less than 10 of them.

why is it that far left men look so girlie and far elft women look more like a man.
If anyone doubts this then just look at a far left wing crowd, I swear the women are always ugly with no class or style and the men lok like either aging hippies or girls who my youngest son at 7 years old could smash up

Were the polls telling the Kos what they were wanting to hear and MarKOS finally woke the hell up?

That's exactly what happened. If you look at the spreads of polling, KOS/R2000 is always is—or is on the edge of being—an outlier in favor of the RATs. I'm not too good at statistics, but consistent deviation from the norm is not a reputable polling firm and should be ignored at all costs.

Hell, practically ALL polling is bunk. Remember the Coke vs New Coke debacle? Coke polled a bunch of people and asked them questions about changing the flavor and sweetness of Coca Cola and their polling said they should change. The minute New Coke hit the streets people came out of the woodwork and slammed Coke for changing their formula.

The lesson? It all depends on who you ask, what you ask, how you ask, and when you ask when you poll.

You can only distort numbers, fudge responses, and use lies and misleading questions for so long before the numbers are meaningless.

Absolutely agree. Your comment reminded me of the works of Immanuel Kant on deception. I have included it below.

Kantian ethics pertaining to deception and lying

Cheers.

“I figured he was paying for the results he wanted to see. How could this be news to him?”

The obama honeymoon is over - even for kos. Now he’s trying futilely to salvage some vestige of a reputation of actually caring about the facts.

There’s no case there and I doubt there will be any lawsuit. These flakes like the Kooks and ACORN blow smoke about suing everyday—and it’s all so much BS.

Your right, actually the nice guy needs more lawyers. I just laugh at people getting lawyers. Nothing liquidates a bank account like a lawyer. They will get that dope on the phone at $250-300 per hr. have a donut an coffee and listen to him vent.

And the lemmings all believed it as gospel .. yeah this is a credible thing for the KOS.

So now all their polling is just an “i’m sorry we screwed up”??? I DON’T THINK SO!
