'Birthers' to march on Washington, D.C.; Hawaii may ignore repeated birth certificate requests
NY Daily News ^ | April 28, 2010 | Michael Sheridan

As the nation's island state aims to escape the repeated requests for President Obama's birth certificate, the fringe "birther" movement sets its sights on D.C.

Hawaii has passed a bill that would allow it to ignore further "duplicative requests" by individuals and groups for Obama's birth certificate, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday.

The Pacific state has been inundated with the requests for nearly two years by those who believe Obama was not born in this country and is not eligible to be President. According to AP, they still get between 10 and 20 e-mails each week.

The bill still needs to be signed by Gov. Linda Lingle.

This comes as "birthers" reportedly plan to converge on Washington on May 29 with the Obama Care Eligibility March, claims original birther attorney Phil Berg, who runs the Web site ObamaCrimes.com. However, it is not clear how many people are actually expected to attend.

Absofrickinlutely.

I originally thought this birth certificate thing was stupid. Then I thought it was not relevant. Then I started comparing the veracity of the information being presented by both sides.

Then I became a birther.

Yep. You don’t get that with other “conspiracy theories”.

Imagine if NASA went to court and spent millions to prevent people from seeing the evidence of the moon landing. Or Bush and the government spent millions in court to prevent people from circulating the audio and video of the 9/11 disaster. Contrarily, they show all the evidence that is reasonable to show, and then some.

The more you try to hide, the more fishy your position looks.

They make it sound like all the requests before were not ignored.

” According to the disputed conspiracy theory, Obama was not born in Hawaii (despite a recognized birth certificate stating that he was,
as well as government officials in Hawaii,
conservative pundit Ann Coulter, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly and others) “

Hawaii states over and over-we have Barry’s long form , never released to the public birth certificate under seal.
In addition to other “ original vital records.”
Yet, the FOX dopes and the media continue the myth that the birth certificate has been made public.
If it has..what does Hawaii have under seal ?

But, if his books are true(I know; why would they be different than any of the other whoppers he’s told), the location of his birth DOES NOT MATTER! His father was a British citizen, his mother a minor. That means he is not a natural born citizen.

Exactly. And if you look at the version of the bill that they passed, they took out the parts about the required disclosure already having been made or the OIP agreeing that the disclosure is not required. The way it reads now it seems like it’s saying that the only issue is whether the department answered the request within the past year and the answer remains the same.

I wonder if this would have any impact on the OIP’s ability to say that a request was wrongly denied.

Not that the current OIP would ever do that. They’ve got Joesting gagged so that she just says the HDOH can decide for itself what the law means. Sigh.

The only way these people will obey the law is if a court appeal is made and it gets appealed beyond Hawaii.

The bill is here: http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2010/Bills/SB2937_CD1_.HTM

Here’s what it says. I’m curious if anybody else understands it to mean that once a department has given an answer that they don’t intend to change, they are not required to disclose a record if the person asks for it again - regardless of whether their denial was proper. Here’s what the bill says:

SECTION 1. Section 92F-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

“(b) Except as provided in section 92F-13, each agency upon request by any person shall make government records available for inspection and copying during regular business hours[.]; provided that an agency shall not be required to make government records available or respond to a person’s subsequent duplicative request, if:

(1) After conducting a good faith review and comparison of the earlier request and the pending request, the agency finds that the pending request is duplicative or substantially similar in nature;

(2) The pending request has already been responded to within the past year; and

(3) The agency’s response to the pending request would remain unchanged.”

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval and shall be repealed on July 1, 2014; provided that section 92F-11(b), Hawaii Revised Statutes, shall be reenacted in the form in which it read on the day before the effective date of this Act.

Good for Neal!

Rush made a crack today about Obama being worried about having to prove his citizenship because of Arizona. I don't mind if the conservative talkers don't want to go out on a limb on this issue but to pooh-pooh it like BOR and Beck is WRONG, especially since they have no special knowledge on the subject.

Me too. Obama could shut everyone up by releasing his real BC, and his school records, and his passport, and...
Instead, he has spent a lot of effort and money to keep it all secret. He must be hiding SOMETHING.

Has anyone looked at Washington state? If Ann moved back and Barry was very young, surely there is a copy there, no?
