A Virginia man who once spent eight years on the run from naval investigators was arrested in Somerset County early today with a trove of high-powered weapons, including a grenade-launcher and two assault rifles, along with maps of a U.S. military base and a civilian neighborhood, authorities said.
The federal governments Joint Terrorism Task Force quickly joined the investigation into Lloyd R. Woodson, 43, who had been staying at a Branchburg motel since last week. Woodson, whose last known address was in Reston, Va., was wearing a bullet-proof vest and carrying one of the assault rifles customized to shoot .50-caliber rounds when police arrested him after a chase and a scuffle in a local trailer park.

Gotta spin “no terrorism threat”
I wonder what his Islamic name is?
FBI finds no terrorism link to Virginia man with weapons cache in N.J. motel room

BRANCHBURG The FBI said a man charged with multiple weapons offenses after a cache of weapons and maps of a military facility were found in his New Jersey motel room has no known terrorism link.
Special Agent Bryan Travers said the FBI was asked to investigate after Lloyd Woodson of Reston, Va. was arrested early Monday. The arrest came after a report that the 43-year-old was acting suspiciously in a convenience store before dawn in Branchburg.
Whoooo-hoooo.......I thinks I smell a copy-cat to the Arkansas and Ft Hood shooters.
The fact that he didn't open fire on the cops when they tried to "Terry Stop" him doesn't smell right with the "sudden jihad syndrome" MO.
It is if you have a dishonorable discharge from the armed forces. Since they said he deserted, and it was 8 years before he was returned to Navy control, I suspect that's what he has. Although it's possible he has a lessor form of a less than honorable discharge, and then "It depends".
Apparently no officials know, or at least are talking about it. Given the time frame, Pakistan or even Afghanistan would be more likely. Now it would be Yemem or still perhaps Pakistan.

They never do... now that they work for Eric Holder, who works for that Hussien guy. Sometimes, when others find the links, they change their tune.
Burkas?
Or Hajib-Abaya combinations?

“Virginia man facing N.J., federal weapons charges had map of Fort Drum in N.Y.”

SNIPPET: “BRANCHBURG — The Virginia man arrested in Somerset County on Monday on charges he had an arsenal stashed in his motel room had a map of Fort Drum in New York and now faces an additional federal gun charge, authorities said.
The FBI, however, has all but dismissed links to terrorism in the case against Lloyd Woodson, 43, who appeared today in Superior Court in Somerville for a first appearance on multiple state weapons charges. His bail on the state charges was set at $75,000.”
SNIPPET: “Woodson, 43, of Reston, Va., was charged Monday with multiple offenses, including second-degree unlawful weapons possession and fourth-degree possession of prohibited weapons after police found him armed and a battery of weapons in his room at the Red Mill Inn in Branchburg.”
Wonder if they have considered that Reston is just a skip and jump from Fairfax where is located a Muslim training camp.
Thanks for the ping, Metmom. I think I live even further away from it than Pandy does.
If this guy was planning an attack on a military base in NJ, I think this makes the second planned attack on a NJ base that has been stopped. My teenaged son stayed on one base for a week last summer, and I thought about how NJ had just put on trial a few terrorists who’d planned an attack there. I figured, “Oh, I shouldn’t worry. No one would try that a second time.” I guess I was wrong. ;-)

I wouldn't say I am paranoid but I do look around more then I ever did before in my life. I wouldn't go pick up a bookbag just sitting in the mall etc. I refuse to go to muslim owned gas stations or stores as I am not going to help them make money to blow us up. I do believe we will see more attacks or attempts on bases or where many people are. Subways, concerts, amusement parks etc.
I lived in Jersey for a few years as a kid, not far from Ft. Dix myself. We had a friend down there who was an officer who worked on the base and went there for Armed Forces Day a couple times.
this guy was AWOL for eight years and then after only one month IC he was discharged? Is this normal?
I pity the po muslim that picks a fight with you! ;^)
No. Sounds like the Navy did not want him back, and thought him useless.
Not worth the fight.
