Let's face it FRiends, if the unconstitutional healthcare bill passes, the socialist coup d'etat will have advanced well beyond the point of no return!
There is nothing in the constitution that authorizes this illegal federal power-grab and plenty that forbids it. If the Obama/Reid/Pelosi Marxist attempted coup pulls this off without the people resisting to the hilt, then they'll have no restrictions whatsoever on implementing the rest of their Liberty killing Marxist agenda. America will be no more.
The whole idea of our constitution is to severely restrict the federal government to only its dozen and a half expressly listed enumerated powers and to guarantee and protect our unalienable individual rights as well as our sovereign states rights and republican form of government.
The constitution has not failed, the people have. When the government will not willingly restrain itself within its legal bounds, then its the duty of the people to enforce the constitution and restrain the government.
The constitution does not define our rights, it defines the limits on government. Our rights are granted by God not government, and government cannot take them away. Our government was established by and for us and was granted by us certain limited powers and only those limited powers. Our government serves at our pleasure to defend our nation and our rights. It does not RULE over us.
Obama is not a dictator. Reid, Pelosi, et al, are not our rulers. When they overstep their bounds to the degree they have, then they MUST be brought back down to reality.
It's time to jerk their constitutional chains taut!
It's time for US to enforce our Constitution and invoke our Bill of Rights!!

It requires a strong will ,fortitude and organization and a great cause likely to gather and energize many people.

I agree there are no pols willing to step up to lead the kind of action needed to pull these people out of their offices and run them out of town on a rail.
The question is, where do we find the leadership and the infrastructure? Answer that satisfactorily and I’ll sign on the bottom line.
It is the nature of people to sometimes get caught up emotionally in the course of events and forget to apply/discard rational observation. An oft repeated phrase one typically sees is "socialism always fails". Indeed it does, so why wouldn't this rule apply to the USA?
Here's the bottom line: a socialized political economy cannot possibly generate enough real wealth to afford the types of expenditures/commitments this country has made.
Who pledges to support & uphold the Constitution? Do you think various scenarios of economic collapse haven't been modeled by RAND and other DoD think tanks?
What happens when economic output drops, tax revenues fall, outside creditors (China) refuse to fund new/roll over existing debt (to the tune of $3-4T during 2010), and the Fed can no longer just print new US $dollars without risking hyper-inflation?
That's right - the US can no longer afford to protect/defend itself as a country. When the modeled outcomes start to become reality, that's when the military begins to make its move.
So help healthcare pass; try and get a government job. We're already to the point where 50%+ of the people are on some form of government support - and they GET TO VOTE. It shouldn't take much more to tip the whole thing over.
I've refrained from recently posting here because it seems like everyone is in la-la land, either hoping for a changed outcome in the 2010/2012 elections, debating to vote Republican v 3rd party, attending rallies & tea parties, discussing Palin, etc.
It looks like JR and others are finally waking up - it's all over. The 2008 election sealed the deal, not because of Obama the person (he's powerless), but because the nature of the country has changed to the point where the people would elect an Obama.
Change/revolution is coming - it's just not the romanticized version many people are thinking. The system is completely unsustainable - which means it will fail completely.
Are you serious? Get real. Times are a changin' - and fast.
What Reid gave Nelson I would think would be a violation of The Fourteenth Amendment. If the republican Senators demanded equal protection (benefits) therefore it would make the bill so expensive it couldn't pass muster with the General accounting office.
I hate the talk of armed revolution in these comments. Flame away, I don’t care.
That being said, from what I read, Nebraska now has an exemption for any increase in Medicaid funding which will have to be made up by the other states. Are there any Democratic Senators from other states who can be turned by the unfairness of this exemption? Or any other exemptions that have been given to other states? Create dissent in the ranks?
I know a lot of folks who voted for Palin in ‘08, folks who would have sat it out again. So, either the sitter outters always sit or they are bloviators. Every “party” has them, even the democrats and continually blaming sitters for what the “party” failed to do is called denial.
The problem wasn't just McCain to those of us who are disgruntled with the “party.” It isn't just about McCain or voting for president. It is about the strength of the representation the said “party” is able to provide. Deciding votes are being cast and have been cast by members of the “party” while the whole lot has stood in opposition to numerous legislation. The delicacy of the situation demands solidarity, which the disgruntled have warned was failing to exist for several decades now.
The disgruntled are not to blame for the 0bama presidency. If McCain had won it would have been only a matter of time and the nation would have still slept through another round of elections, electing more (r's) into the “party.” The time, this kind of time, would still come. And the struggle would be much worse, because McCain would have let us sleep or stay in our ignorance.
Presidents who lead are often inspirations, Presidents who exist, lame ducks, often do no harm. Little will change or happen as long as legislation fails to make it to the President's desk. The power brokers right now are in Congress.
Solidarity of our representation is needed, but does not exist. Those few, who many like you voted, for fail in their duties to the “party,” their constituents, and the country. Odd as it may seem they have R's after their names. McCain, Mr. Reach Across the Aisle, himself was just the highest example of how low the “party” has fallen.
Folks like you have given us: Snowe, Voinovich, et al. They are not better than democrats, they are the party's traitorous worst. They are the poisoned tipped arrow through the Republican party heart.
Strength does not come from voting for every candidate that has an (R) after their name.

I appreciate Jim Robinson. But there is no man-made situation that cannot be changed by man. Yes I’m agititated and saddened to see the country being torn assunder by the demrats.
But we became too complacent with our “special” place in the world. Too many of us did nothing while our schools, judiciary, labor unions, what passes for religious leadership, and some of our financial institutions were radicalized by Marxists. That includes me.
I view Onada’s usurption of the presidency as a wake up call—not a give up call. Saying that the passage of Onadacare—it has not passed yet— means our country is forever doomed to the socialist road is exactly the wrong response. Marxism always fails. It will again.
My response is not to take the Chicken Little approach, but to come up with a plan to defeat Marxism. Unless you want to deal with that reality get out of the way. Now is the time for real constitutionalists to step up to the plate— not whine.
All the calls to take up arms? I've been hearing them forever, and no one ever does because everyone knows it's all rah-rah bull****. The people who post those battle cries do what? They sit on their asses in front of the tube and crack open a cold one, OR they're loons like McVeigh or those idiots who have their little militia meetings while wearing bowling trophies on their heads and calling each other "Colonel", and do nothing but post angry screeds online.
Actually doing the hard work of examining what's happening and seeing how to stop it using the tools we've got is too hard on the puzzler. Better to watch Hannity bellowing on FOX and yelling 'Yeah, YEAH! Buy ammo!' while not actually DOING anything like, oh, I don't know, calling your representative, getting conservative candidates to run in primaries, and actually investigating how we can legally deal with such challenges.
Nah, easier to shout tough guy slogans. And do NOTHING.
