Today, November 24, it is exactly 150 years since Charles Darwin published his On the Origin of Species.
The world has been gearing up for this second echelon of celebrations for this international Year of Darwin, following on from the 200th anniversary of his birth this last February. Atheists and humanist groups in particular have seemed to be relishing the thought of giving further prominence to the ideas of their patron saint. Their adulation is heightened by their knowledge that...

Nope, that is the senior member of the AMA suporting Obamacare. Get it right.
Will do.
Jesus and I will both laugh at old Charlie Manson and wonder what he was thinking.
The shroud was determined to be fake by Carbon-14 dating. You know real scientific evidence.
What empirical scientific evidence do you have to show the geological column is false?
Electric, This post was started by GGG. Why is it necessary for you to enter in? You obviously have no desire in you for anything besides trying to ridicule someone. Why is your LACK of faith (besides in yourself and those man-made constructs) so imperiled that you MUST come into threads that do not comply with your belief system?
SHAME on all you so called conservatives that seek to discredit the very cornerstone of what helped to make this country so great to begin with! Faith in a Creator and His beneficence.
Go ahead and mock, ha ha. Deny God, deny His Word. I believe truly you will rue these days, as the longer you live without the Lord, the more likely He will turn you over to your reprobate minds.
What you bunch of evo-worshippers seem to miss, is not that Darwin personally is responsible for the way the world is going, BUT that he is an obvious symptom of that which is not right, the BELIEF that man is a completely natural (read accidental) creature AND that he is self sufficient unto himself.
It is the idea that man has a Creator, that he might be responsible for his actions, that there are laws given by the Creator to govern mans life, that makes civilization even possible. Without those, what is really 'wrong'? Male lions WILL kill a lioness cubs to put her in heat to breed to make his own cubs. If we are so completely natural, why not? Male deer have a herd of doe to mate with, why not us? Oh, wait, these two examples DO EXIST, and they are in FAILING parts of society. Yes, mock away, then rail at the universe about why your precious little united states is FAILING!!!!.
Who cares what you have observed in science? IS IT HELPING THIS COUNTRY? You need to get on your knes and thank God you were born here, a Christian based country, instead of some hell-hole where the people there are literally crying out for the Word, as we shed it as something useless and dirty!!
Don't like the Creation style posts? Don't dirty your monitor screen with them.
I will continue to refute falsehoods and to rebuke those that post tehm. Pointing out stupidity and abusive behavior is not, in and of itself, a personal insult.
And I know you aren't going to say such is acceptable practice amongst Catholics, are you?"
Read the Gaudium et Spes and get back to me.
Ira - You are lost in sin, per your tagline. You Know, presumably, that Gods word is true. You know, presumably in that word, that ‘to know to do right, and not do it, is sin’. Yet here you are pointing a finger at God, calling Him a liar in His word. Good idea? Not so much.
In other words, scientists know they are only able to formulate theories based upon observable repeatable evidence; and those theories can only explain or predict facts which are evident through OBSERVABLE reality.
What ‘great and secret show’ goes on behind the scenes unobservable to man's senses is not now and never will be the purvey of science; only observable reality.
Read Col. 3:8,9 and get back to me. It’s succinct and authoritative.
So then you have no empirical evidence to support your belief that the geological column is false, so you decide to question my faith.
Nice attempt at misdirection and avoidance
Ah, yes, lets look at science rather than what the word of God says. You know that pesky little book, the Bible. Lets read and believe the ‘good stuff’ like salvation, but completely disregard the parts that may be just a bit more difficult for us to have ‘faith in’.
Lets rely on a man-made idea to form our outlook rather than what God says. Empirical evidence or otherwise, I believe his word. Man says the earth is billions of years old, hmmm. God says the earth, and all on it was created in 6 days, I believe Him. Not sure why you would want to call Him a liar, but there you go.
No misdirection at all.
So then you agree there is no empirical evidence that the geological column is false.
Geological column? I venture to opine that you mean the various strata observed when the ground is opened for inspection? Sure it is true. There is a column, composed of different geological layers.
But what does it all mean? Man says one thing, God another. Just how did the layers form, how long ago and why? Hmmmm no one around today was there, and no one there at the time wrote anything down. The account was given to Moses to write. Do you not trust Gods Word delivered through Moses?
It was proved fake by the Bible, the sole source of infallibility in all of creation.
Geologic column? It’s never been observed. You man claim there are 25 complete examples but you’d be fudging like the global warming religion does.
So then you admit there is no empirical evidence that the geological column is false
At least we agree on something.
So then you admit there is no empirical evidence that the geological column is false
And You still call God a liar.
Is that how science works? True till proven false, while never having to be proven true?
Here is my very serious question to Young Earth Creationists:
Why don’t you guys simply believe that God created Earth 6,000 years ago, TOGETHER with these fossils, isotopic compositions, geological strata, tectonic plates, etc. suggesting, for a reason only known to Him, a longer history? This would be pure faith, not subject to any ridicule, as is the case with this ‘creation science’ quackery?
Do you all go to school to learn that tactic? Strawman after strawman after strawman after strawman. “So then you admit there’s no empirical evidence?” “So then you’re saying the pope is a pedophile?” “When did you stop beating your wife?” “Oh I see, well then, I’m done with you.”
It’s so annoying and childish. It’s the way a 13 year old girl would argue and think she’s so smart because her parent wont bite.
