“The majority of people in this country don’t even know about this vote yet. They are not paying attention. They will turn on the news and be told that the “greatest most historic health care plan ever has passed”.

That is all they will retain.”

Until they get told by their physician that they need a procedure that will not be approved by the government. Then they will get all whiney and want the physician to fight the roadblocks for them.
Hell no! You get the healthcare you voted for! Deal with it- do not bother us.
You will not beleive in my career how many times I have fought for patients who voted for Zero. They can now deal with their own problems.

I had a different take once I saw who it was. Pelosi better enjoy the perks because in Nov 2010, she will be facing 60 days as Speaker and then be ousted. I cannot wait to see her lose the Speaker’s chair and have a Republican sitting behind ZERO at the 2011 State of the Union.

This is a BI-PARTISAN Bill. Watch the spinning tomorrow on the gas bag shows. They will tie this into the RATS winning the two House seats last Tuesday and their mandate is still strong. Hurl.

Yeah, but it will be very hard to undo whats done, and thats even assuming the votes are there AND in a number to overcome a VETO. I would bet large amounts that it will not get undone.

See down post...reconciliation has a whole bunch of problems that makes it totally unpalatable to the democrats. First, all reconciliation provisions sunset in 5 years. Second, because of its parlimentary chicanary, it does not have a cloture vote, which means that endless amendments can be offered and debated. Trying to reconcile this would mean that literally 1000 amendments can be offered by each repulican, and they must be debated. So if they try, I would hope our guys would take the ball and run the clock out. While it is I suppose a marginal threat, it would be political suicide...and as I previously stated, Mr. Reid does not want to reside in Searchlight in forced retirement, Washington DC is so much more fun...

Do you understand what reconciliation entails?

I don't think you understand; we don't live in that country anymore.

If you count Lieberman, yes I suppose they have 60. But its far from clear they can shut off a sustained filibuster. That may be the last hope of our Republic.

"Still, 39 Democrats bolted from their party"

No they didn't the Democrates had as many votes as they needed so let the others save their Jobs for 2010, or at least they think so anyway. When people see what is in this POS and realize what it will actually mean to them on a personal basis the s*** will hit the fan. However their are lots of people that will be happy about this. Remember ... ever mind we'll just have to wait and see what will transpire.

Everyone needs to remember that every last Blue Dog voted to make Pelosi Speaker and that is all we need to know — all of them need to be targets.

I agree with you that Cao was told to vote Yes after it was clear his vote wouldn’t make a difference. They took a page out of Pelosi’s playbook as she does that all the time to try and give the Dems cover.

I think the election of the pro Obamacare, Bill Owens in NY-23 on Nov. 3rd tipped the vote to get it passed.

Nope. That's incorrect.

The fact that a NOBODY 3rd party Conservative in NY-23 could come out of no where — without the endorsement of the RNC, and despite last-minute turn-coat antics of the RINO dropping out of the race, and STILL come within 4 points of winning in a HIGHLY Liberal New York Congressional district that had just been gerrymandered into being even MORE Liberal — kept tonight's vote from being more like 230 in support of ObamaCare.

The vote of 218 (reaching 220 to garner favor from Obama) was HIGHLY calculated by the Democratic leadership to give cover to as many Blue Dogs as possible.

The fear of God is about to be put into the Blue Dogs who voted to SUPPORT ObamaCare tonight, by Tea Partiers and local Conservatives who are pissed off as a stepped-on Fire Ant mound on a hot 4th of July.

And those of you complaining "we are screwed" had better get engaged and get as many people you know engaged (if you're not already engaged) — or you, your kids and all future generations will beed !

There is no such thing as a conservative rat. They are all political opportunists. If he was truly a conservative he would be at least a Republican. He must be voted out with the rest of the rats, rinos and diablos.

The Blue Dogs whether they voted YES or NO should all be dumped because they are Democrats led by Pelosi and Obama.

I believe in pinning this right on Obama and Pelosi and reminding people of them until they pull the GOP lever and kick out the “Blue Dogs.”

But Cao must be punished for what he did.

He voted to slowly turn America into a socialist country.

This is totally disgusting for a man of Vietnamese background.

Throw him out of the GOP and let him be a Democrat.
