Palin's title: 'Going Rogue' (wow - 1.5M 1st printing)
Politico ^ | 9-28-09 | Mike Allen

Sarah Palin’s publisher plans to announce Tuesday that the title of her eagerly awaited memoir will be “Going Rogue: An American Life.”

Publication is being moved up from spring to Nov. 17 in order to catch the holiday book-buying season. The former Alaska governor has been in huge demand as a speaker, and continues to harvest a bounty of media attention.

A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered — the same first run as “True Compass,” the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.

Palin had a deadline of Sept. 15 for her manuscript and turned it in a bit early. Copy-editing and fact-checking are now underway in a race to meet the crash publishing schedule, which has been accelerated four or five months because of the huge anticipated demand.

After Palin left office on July 26, she went with her husband, Todd, and her children to San Diego, the home of her collaborator, Lynn Vincent, and worked on the book for several weeks.

Later, Palin spent several days in New York, going over the final edits.

Palin mischievously embraced the phrase “going rogue” at the end of her troubled campaign for vice president on the ticket headed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

The phrase has its roots in an Oct. 20 story by Slate's John Dickerson, with the lead: "Has Sarah Palin "gone rogue"?"

Its not a leftist talking point to say that she needed to fight and stay Governor.

You can't fight a blizzard of bogus ethics violations that are hampering your ability to govern and costing your state millions of dollars.

The ethics law as written had no recourse or loopholes against those who filed frivolous suits. The suits really locked her down and by resigning she completely turned the tables on the operatives. AK was a key gubernatorial race in 2010 because the Dems wanted to exploit that pipeline deal.

If she would have "stayed and fight," the remaining 3rd of her term would have labeled "scandal-marred" by the MSM and would have weakened her drastically. She had nothing to gain by staying, plus the legislature isn't in session until next spring anyway. She would have been the lamest of lame ducks.

Read her accomplishments sometimes. She accomplished more in her 2.5 years as Governor than most Governors do in 2 terms.

I fear it will galvanize them even more, as they will attack her and the message relentlessly.

Oh, it will certainly galvanize them, but I believe that, with appearances leading up to any campaign, she will have been able to change minds that were already made up against her. She will have the opportunity, over the next couple of years to put herself out there, to show the American people what she's truly like, and the ideas that she represents. She's already made great strides in this respect with her opinion pieces, and her presence on Facebook.

I believe the MSM, after a couple of years of That One, will be discredited in their slobbering over him, and will lose clout in being able to define Sarah.

Sarah was doing a wonderful job, especially with the pipeline deal and Alaska needed her to stay on.

She made it clear, in her resignation speech, that she'd done much of what she'd said she'd do when elected. For things that remained to be done, she said that she and her Lt. Gov. were of a mind on what needed to be done, and she had every confidence that he'd work for those issues. She didn't leave Alaskan voters in the lurch.

But leaving a prominent position just to make cash smacks of a sell-out.

Sorry newbie troll, your drive-by hit doesn't wash. Sarah was very clear why she left 18 months early.

The suits could have been easily fought off if more contributed to her defense fund. Her defense fund could have easily negated any cost to the state. It didnt happen. The donations did not happen to offset the lawsuits. Her term would have been labeled as such anyway, that is why she needed to stay and fight the bastards off. But she didn’t.

Her accomplishments wre getting the pipeline deal through among other things. That being the biggest. She could have done much more for the largest state in the US, as well as for oil interests, if she had stayed. She could have then said she served a full term, AND made many more contributions in oil independence. Now she can do neither. Its a major sticking point with my family because they really thought she was going to pull it through for McCain with all of her rallies.

perhaps read some of my comments and posts before you decide to write me off. I still say she is the top of the bunch for now and both myself and my family loved her and voted for her. I know this is an emotional issue for many.

Obama is already losing poll points. He is doing great damage already. But the stories about Palin are all ready out there, as much as they are unfair and discredit her unfairly. I am more interested in the message than any particular candidate.

Accompanying Mrs. Palin to Hong Kong was Randy Scheunemann, the former foreign policy adviser to John McCain, who lost the 2008 election to President Obama.
Just look for it. Every time Palin goes anywhere, she goes with McCain advisors, every time she gives a speech, it's written by McCain speech writers. I started noticing this trend a while back. Palin has never seperated herself from McCain and his people. She is a John McCain-style 'maverick'. She's never claimed to be anything different. She does not, and never has seen McCain and his people as the enemy within. She is firmly rooted in the McCain camp, and the McCain world view. Many people want to see her as something else, just as people wanted to see 0bama as something other than the Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers type he really is.

Go back and follow Palin's journeys since after the election. You will find a McCain link just about everywhere you look.

The reality is that the GOP regular hack brigade does this stuff for a living. This is it for them and they show up in droves whenever someone starts looking like a front runner. This is a good sign. Nobody left from the Reagan Administration and Bush is too hot for Palin right now (hot like in political liability). SO, the only available GOP hacks are, unfortunately, McWhatshisname's leftovers. Some are actually quite talented, however. Sarah just needs Rove and a good bottle of Scotch to win this thing. Mitt can eat sh*tt...

Perhaps you are the one who so easily forgets.
Sarah Palin is John McCain’s hand-picked, personally groomed protégé.
The perfect McCainian Candidate.

You need to shake that feeling off. McWhatshisname did it to himself. If Palin wasn't on board, he would have polled in the 30% range. He's a political loser (yet, a war hero) so Palin is not at fault. She did the best she could as a newbie and got her head handed to her for her efforts. To her credit, she is maturing into what will be known as the first woman president of the United States...

Im just assuming you are a guy April, but the “hotter than heck” comment makes me wonder. Anyway, homosexualism does not have a place in our party. I am adament on that point. Time for the abortion and homosexuals to leave conservatism. Same with RINO’s who support any type of social programs. We are not going to win in 10’ or 12’ by compromising our core principals.
