Sarah Palins publisher plans to announce Tuesday that the title of her eagerly awaited memoir will be Going Rogue: An American Life.
Publication is being moved up from spring to Nov. 17 in order to catch the holiday book-buying season. The former Alaska governor has been in huge demand as a speaker, and continues to harvest a bounty of media attention.
A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered the same first run as True Compass, the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Palin had a deadline of Sept. 15 for her manuscript and turned it in a bit early. Copy-editing and fact-checking are now underway in a race to meet the crash publishing schedule, which has been accelerated four or five months because of the huge anticipated demand.
After Palin left office on July 26, she went with her husband, Todd, and her children to San Diego, the home of her collaborator, Lynn Vincent, and worked on the book for several weeks.
Later, Palin spent several days in New York, going over the final edits.
Palin mischievously embraced the phrase going rogue at the end of her troubled campaign for vice president on the ticket headed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The phrase has its roots in an Oct. 20 story by Slate's John Dickerson, with the lead: "Has Sarah Palin "gone rogue"?"
Fantastic .. ! They know it's going to fly off the shelves for Christmas. Go, Sarah .. God bless you !
the left is going to be happy when they hear this :D
Going rogue from the conservative community, perhaps.
Every time she makes a move, she is flanked by John McCain’s people... still.
Hasn’t anyone else noticed this?
The difference is that Palin will be sold in one's and two's to real people while the Kennedy door-stop will be bought anonymously by the skid-load and sequestered in corners of vacant warehouses by union thugs and other liberals.
home of her collaborator?
They make it sound as if she’s in some Vichy regime or something?
They’re not printing enough. 1.5 million will barely cover the crowd in DC on 9-12.
Huh? Are you on drugs? McCain’s people? They are in the dust!
Right .. DNC will jack up the #’s by buying
massive quantities as ‘mementos’ of the man.
Sarah, you rock.
Personally I focus on her moves, not the hangers-on and bystanders in the background.. To each his own I guess.
Over halfof America loves her, and so do the Japanese, South Koreans and Russians, all who have had dealings with her over commercial fishery and home porting issues. In Japan she i s an icon already, more so than she is here in the USA.(Sahrah Pahrinu, Genki!).
Watch her send the dems into an absolute tizzy. They are already starting to hoot. This is a very good sign.
Going Rogue: An American Life?! Why not: Going Right: An American Life.

I know now what to get my super-liberal aunt for Christmas.
great idea :D Im sure your aunt will not be able to put the book down :D
As usual, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. The only McCain person Sarah has in her company is Randy Scheunemann, who was the only campaign aide who stood up for her when Schmidt, Davis, Salter, and Wallace were all stabbing her in the back, and Davis fired him for it.
I doubt she would throw the book back at my face..it’s Christmas LOL!
You are the critic with an agenda since you hit Palin every time something is posted about her.
Give specific examples for your criticism so we can respond.

BOOKS: WORLDs Lynn Vincent teams up with Sarah Palin on a book that promises to set the record straight about the Alaska governors personal and political life | Mickey McLean
###
After last weeks announcement that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would pen a memoir to set the record straight about her personal and political life, HarperCollins revealed Thursday that WORLD Magazine Features Editor Lynn Vincent has been signed on as Palins collaborator.
The book, not yet titled, will be co-published by HarperCollins imprint Harper and HarperCollins-owned Zondervan and is scheduled for release in the spring of 2010.
During her 10 years as a senior writer and features editor for WORLD, Vincent has covered politics, culture, and hot-button social issues such as abortion for the biweekly news magazine. She has also specialized in narrative journalism.
Lynn has been WORLDs best writer of action stories ranging from shots fired in a Texas church to raging fires on California hillsides, said WORLD Editor in Chief Marvin Olasky. She combines guts and grace, as does Sarah Palin, so the book should be outstanding.
Vincent, 46, has collaborated on four previous memoirs. Her most popular collaboration, Same Kind of Different As Me (Thomas Nelson, 2006), tells the remarkable story of Ron Hall, a wealthy white art dealer, and Denver Moore, an illiterate homeless black man, as their lives converge unexpectedly.
The book has sold nearly half a million copies and has stayed on the New York Times best-seller list for more than 59 consecutive weeks, including 29 weeks at No. 15 or above. Through speaking engagements by Hall and Moore, the book has helped raise more than $30 million for homeless shelters nationwide.
Having worked for more than a decade with Lynn Vincent in what is often a mans world, I know she brings a rare kind of strong-mindedness and tender-heartedness to every assignment, said WORLD Editor Mindy Belz. Lynn is a tenacious reporter and an exacting writerand I'm not sure when she sleeps.
While Vincent works with Palin on her memoir, she will take a leave of absence from her writing for WORLD and its online counterparts, WORLDmag.com and WorldMagBlog.
