Sarah Palins publisher plans to announce Tuesday that the title of her eagerly awaited memoir will be Going Rogue: An American Life.
Publication is being moved up from spring to Nov. 17 in order to catch the holiday book-buying season. The former Alaska governor has been in huge demand as a speaker, and continues to harvest a bounty of media attention.
A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered the same first run as True Compass, the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Palin had a deadline of Sept. 15 for her manuscript and turned it in a bit early. Copy-editing and fact-checking are now underway in a race to meet the crash publishing schedule, which has been accelerated four or five months because of the huge anticipated demand.
After Palin left office on July 26, she went with her husband, Todd, and her children to San Diego, the home of her collaborator, Lynn Vincent, and worked on the book for several weeks.
Later, Palin spent several days in New York, going over the final edits.
Palin mischievously embraced the phrase going rogue at the end of her troubled campaign for vice president on the ticket headed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The phrase has its roots in an Oct. 20 story by Slate's John Dickerson, with the lead: "Has Sarah Palin "gone rogue"?"
I told you all about Scheunemann and what he did for Sarah during the campaign, but you completely ignored it. Instead, you chose to throw out the blatant lie that she has surrounded herself with McCain people when she has not. Do you see Steve Schmidt anywhere? Rick Davis? Mark Salter? Nichole Wallace? Anyone else from the campaign besides Scheunemann?
No, she's obviously hired some top professional Conservative guns to help her burnish her credentials for whatever she is going to do in the future.

Hey, noob, she's paying off her enormous legal debts incurred while fending off frivolous ethics attacks filed by Obama's minions up in Alaska. If you knew anything about Sarah and what was going on up there, then it should not bother you about her paid speaking engagements.
At any rate, if she was simply just going to "cash in," then she would not be hurling her lightning bolts at Obama from her Facebook page and through her Op-Eds.
I tried to get my friend to invite her to the ladies sailfish event last year but no luck. Maybe this year, that would be awesome.
Yes ! Hope you can get it done... ;)
You would think you could preorder this book at Amazon if it’s coming out in November... but I can’t find it in a search there.
Only difference is Sarah's book will actually sell that many and more. They won't end up decomposing in a Massachusetts landfill somewhere.
I don’t believe anyone who is homosexual, or is not pro-life should be ‘driven from the party’. I’m not looking for ideological purity, because purity is a very subjective term, and it’s not clear that any of us is ‘ideologically pure’. I don’t mind if they’re Republican, as long as they don’t try to undermine the basic conservative principles of the party for which the majority is working.
Well unfortunately, people didn't contribute to her legal defense fund because (A) it was too little too late and (B) the defense fund itself was under review.
Her defense fund could have easily negated any cost to the state.
Her bills were over $500,000. While the Palins make over a six-figure income combined, they're not by no means wealthy.
It didnt happen. The donations did not happen to offset the lawsuits.
Probably because people were protecting their own finances from Obama and not worrying about Palin?
Her term would have been labeled as such anyway, that is why she needed to stay and fight the bastards off. But she didnt.
Here's what you don't get though. Her detractors DON'T CARE that she stayed a full term; all that would have been printed in the MSM is that Palin's term was full of scandals and she spent more time fighting "perceived" enemies than getting things done for the people. She would have had to responded to all of these ethics violations instead of the issues. Use your head.
A basic conservative principle is that homosexuality is wrong. Letting people in who are homosexuals who openly and actively gloat about their lifestyles and try to define marriage is a hugh issue with most conservatives. Just like abortion. If I wanted the watered down version of conservatism, I would have picked McCain. Thats exactly what we are trying to get rid of. Palin, for all of her effort, could’nt seal the deal, unfortunately, and so i am looking for another candidate that doesn’t come with the perceived baggage, however wrong.
Its tde focus on personalities, instead of the issues that is the problem. Its why we have Obama because he has a cult like following. Hopefully in 12’ Obama’s negatives will be such that his cult will stay home from voting.
Im not voting against Sarah. I will vote for whoever is the standard bearer in 12’. I just dont see her making it, and I am really suprised at the level of hostility just because I don’t think one particular candidate has what it takes. I said in another reply, hopefully Obama’s numbers will be so bad that his followers will just stay home.
What if the standard bearer is Romney or McCain? Would you also vote for them?
I voted for Palin/Mcwho because of Sarah’s fine conservative ideals. Unfortunately, she didnt garner enough votes by several million. I tried to ingnore the scandal du jour with her as I know how the MSM piled on. Then the stuff with the family/called off marriage, Todd’s sister with the breaking in, Tripp’s grandma with the drug thing, and now she left mid term when she was doing an excellent job. It got to be too much distraction from the message. I can tell you this, its not going to be McCain or Romney, thats for sure.
Sarah has fine ideals and right now, she really is the only one in front, so we will probably see in 12’, if what I think is accurate.Hopefully Im proven wrong.
1) Governor Palin was not running for President.
2) I dare say you put your own family against hers if you think there were scandals (which you admit were created/intensified by the MSM)
3) We are not here to judge normal families and I think that’s why Sarah Palin is so loved. She’s may be perfect (of course not!) but she loves and accepts her family as any real woman would.
4) She’s a realist. So many others have written the facts to you about her legal bills, her inability to govern with frivolous lawsuits that I can’t even bother to address it.
5) With friends like you, who needs enemies. I realize you’re new here but the right wing faction (of which I am proud to be a member of) doesn’t need judgemental people. Jesus was not judgemental - he accepted those who were not accepted elsewhere.
She was running as Vice President and everyone I knew was NOT voting for McCain. They were voting for Sarah. She did not get the several million votes needed to win. My family is fine, and Im not judging anybody. Im pointing out it is a distraction. Its not a distraction to anyone who will unquestionly supports a person, no matter what happens. Im not one of those types of people.
I dont consider myself “right wing” I dont like the term. I prefer Conservative. The reason we had candidates like McCain was because we didn’t want to offend anyone and accept those who arent like us. Not anymore. Conservative, through and through, or they can waltz over to the liberals.
Ive recently seen Steele’s comments in another thread. Should we accept him as well? Crist? Huckabee? No thanks.
Huckabee represents all that is conservative. Why don’t you like him?
Also you never answered, you said you’d vote for whomever is the standard bearer. Will you vote for Mitt Romney? Will you vote for Rudy Giuliani? What if they are the standard bearers in 2012?
You seem to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. No doubt Joe Biden did not bring one single extra vote for Obama and yet you expected Palin to bring in the ticket? It’s the front runner candidate who is responsible for the win or loss. Obama carried the ticket.
McCain failed miserably and would have been a terrible embarrassment if not for Palin bringing through the entire ticket, even as a VP. It appears you blame her for McCains lack.
There you go again, completely tone deaf to the reasoned arguments she and conservatives have made as to why she stepped down. Her family/personal issues HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HER DECISION, and people realize that if someone who was just a Senator for 2 working years can be President then so can Palin. And Palin has over 17 years of political experience. She is by no means a rookie.
