That's the mostly unrecognized backstory to why FR's attention was drawn, repeatedly and at great length over more than a years' time, to the "fake" "COLB." It mired FR in wheelspinning, on an image with no probative or forensic value, of a document that couldn't prove anything if it was authentic, that couldn't be legally associated with Obama.

Yep, now I remember....the Beatles hit Ed Sullivan in 1964 IIRC, and I decided, at a tender age, that boys were interesting and fell madly in love with Paul (Michelle, ma belle). Right after that is when the drug scene went viral and I started wearing almost white lipstick, applied after I got to school.
It has been alleged that Orly Taitz was able to get into the records of foreign students in California and found a listing for Barry Sotero. Obviously, that is not consistent with your position. I don’t have too much invested in either side of the debate in terms of what he called himself at Occidental, but, having heard about Taitz’s research, I am inclined to believe that his legal name while at Occidental was Barry Sotero.
Having seen many kids go through divorce when I was in school, I can say that there is always a confusion and dread when a student has to change his legal name because of a divorce. I can easily see any such child being reluctant to use their legal name to avoid embarrassment.
Basically I do not know and can’t claim to know what name he used at Occidental. The poem you quoted corroborates that he was indeed using the Obama name that year. Is the source of that poem and name contemperaneous - if so, then that year he was using Obama. What name did he used when he applied? The same name? Do you know?
And even more important than the name, is the nationality.
I think Fred Nerks has done a lot of research about the timing of the book. I bow to superior research conclusions, whatever they are.

So Gibbs is in effect saying, "I can't imagine why--despite all evidence pointing in the OTHER direction--ANYONE would believe BO was born here (in the U.S.)"?
