I wouldn’t worry too much about that. He has a bunch of Cisco certs, he won’t go hungry.
WOW -- it's rather amazing to see the LIGHTNING SPEED of the Pentagon (and White House) in trying to quash this story — ASAP!
To me, it would seem as if Major Cook has an opportunity now to file a lawsuit against the Pentagon for illegal firing of a civilian as retaliation for questioning an order and verifying if it's lawful and/or legitimate. He should have other protections in place, similar to DoDD 7050.06, updated on July 23, 2007.

The media especially FOX need to be absolutely PEPPERED with questions and information on this matter. They need to be asked OUTRIGHT WHEN they are going to start digging into this issue themselves. And they need to do if before THEIR voices are silenced. If anyone thinks that’s not going to happen then they aren’t following what is going on here. You want to talk about dismanteling a country and steamrolling over it all in one motion - just look around. This is UN-FREAKING-BELIEVEABLE!! Obama is a complete FRAUD, the MSM know, it, people are beginning to know it and it’s the PEOPLE who need to be 5 million strong, bearing arms, arriving at the White House to oust these THUGS. CO

What information that is out there is sketchy. But, if Cook was fired because his job required him to have a security clearance, and that clearance was terminated (for whatever reason), Maj. Cook is SOL.
Who does or does not have a national security clearance is a responsibility that falls solely on the executive branch, and specifically to the Executive. It's not reviewable by either Congress or the Judiciary. Essentially, they can issue and retract security clearance at their pleasure.
At first blush, Cook wouldn't have any grounds for action with his employer, and he definitely wouldn't be able to sue (successfully) the Army for revoking his security clearance, if that indeed happened.
