Science Still in the Dark about Dark Energy

Evolutionary astronomers have a problem. The universe is expanding at an ever-increasing rate, but if general relativity is an accurate cosmological model, and if the universe is made up of the kinds of matter and energy that are directly detectable (like atoms and light), then its expansion should be slowing. Astronomers “fixed” this problem by theorizing that “75% of the energy density of the universe exists…as dark energy.”[1] This non-detectable dark energy allows the man-made model to match astronomical observations.
However, scientists are aware that dark energy itself has problems: “Nothing meeting the description of dark energy [matches] fundamental particles… It is a substance that has not as yet been measured directly, has properties unlike anything we have ever seen…. In short, we are very much in the dark about dark energy.”[2] At the urging of mainstream cosmologists, millions of government dollars are being spent trying to detect and characterize dark energy, whose supposed existence is only one of the assumptions required to make standard cosmological models “work.”

Man corrupts religion, not the other way around. It’s a safe bet if Jesus were on the Earth today, he would not recognize or approve of the majority of the world’s religions.
My relationship with God is quite simplistic and basic - I believe he exists, and I’m thankful for the gift of life which originated from him. I tell him that in prayer, and I try to lead a life which I believe is the closest to what he has commanded.
Even though I’m a church goer, I have little use for most religions and what they’ve become over the centuries.

In the Beginning there was the Word — and that is Who I follow. I suggest you soften your heart and listen to what The Word is saying to all of us.

I can hardly believe what I see before me. A person that completely denies God’s word is telling me he wants my heart opened? To what, the lies and deception of the humanists? No, thanks! I’ll stick with God’s revealed truth.
Objective science lines up with the word, not with the stuff that you’re pushing FD.

If you're talking about organized religion, I agree. I have zero problems with people having and practicing their faith as long as they don't hurt, harass or infringe on the liberties of others. I'm all for it if it helps them lead better lives. Whatever floats your boat.
Group dynamics and demagoguery can take over when they get organized though, often to someone's detriment. This can be as relatively harmless as the back-stabbing fashion show/social clubs that many Christian churches around here have become, to our favorite pastime of the Muslims -- killing people.
For the purposes of the Wager, which is what I was talking about, it is like all other religions. I didn't mean for this to grow into a larger comparative religions discussion.

Or, IMHO, you must first convince them they need more when they often really don't. Some may need more, and it's fine if religion is what they needed to get their lives together. Others don't need more.
You seem to have a big hangup with religion. What happened to turn you off to it?
No big hang up, just not my thing. It wasn't so much being turned off, but finding religion itself not necessary, and finding the apologetics to remain and to come back not convincing.
