TAMPA - After President Barack Obama won the election, people flooded gun stores because of speculation that he may limit gun ownership or raise taxes on them. Even though neither has happened, the amount of people wanting to get their hands on a gun hasn't gone down. Scott Patrick is the General Manager of the Shoot Straight gun range in Tampa. He says the number of people coming into his store is still going up. "For whatever reason, whether it's the economy or crime, people don't feel safe," he said. Patrick is having serious trouble keeping all kinds of fire arms in stock, even holsters are often backordered. However, he says ammunition is what is really flying off store shelves. Ammo that sells for personal protection is as good as gold these days, and it's costing 30 to 40 percent more than it used to.

“Where did you come up with the idea I opposed such?”
From your posts which stste that “well you guys aren’t talking about hunting” and implying we are discussing something nefarious.
And I am not the only one who has seen your posts here; look at the resposes you are getting.
I honestly believe that you believe that.
I personally believe that you are wrong, but I hope that you are right. I'm not going to roll the dice on who ends up right in the end though so I choose to prepare and not keep my head in the sand about it.....just too many signs.
Good luck
If the dow drops far enough, you will see guys selling their arsenals (and everything else) to buy essentials.
Large houses will be cleaned out and sold for taxes.
I don't think he forgot at all. 0bama was a paid rabble rouser. He knows these guys, and he knows what they'll do. I think he might be misunderestimating the amount of violence that may happen, but I think he fully intends to liberate vacant houses to squatters, and has no problem with it.
“People ARE scared but when the older generation is scared its time to listen !”
I feel the same way.
Hadn’t realized that the problem was extended to tactical shotguns too. I wonder how long they are back-ordered for?
I looked around and couldn’t find a Winchester Defender. Mossberg 500As are on back order some places as well. I did find one place that had 870s in stock - Bud’s Gun Shop in Lexington, KY - www.budsgunshop.com.
I am concerned about recoil. However, if a “little brother” enters one’s house better a bruised shoulder than a rape or dying or both. To lear to use the gun a recoil pad will help or eliminate the bruising.
That is why you are wise to have a good rifle or two, a shotgun and a trustworthy pistol you can comfortably carry.
Add to this a modest supply of ammo for each firearm and you have this department covered.
Hoarding is misguided at this time though may be appropriate for trading purposes toward the end of this year.
Is our government funding ACORN? I just became conscious of the group during the primaries. Photographs of their activities reveals who they are.
Reportedly to the tune of 4.1 billion - for “community development”. None will go to their successful democratic voter registration though. The dems promise.
Obviously, the second amendment is not ‘nefarious’ and not one of my comments should have been interpreted as implying such.
We all know the second has nothing to do with target practice or hunting.
IT HAS TO DO WITH OVERTHROWING A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT!
I don’t consider that nefarious in any sense.
Tyrannical governments are nefarious by definition.
I suspect responses like yours ‘energizes our detractors’ quite a lot.
0bama has no power? You have got to be kidding.
But there is the problem, your definition of a modest amount of ammo is just that, your definition.
My definition is quite a bit different.
Ironic, though, isn’t it, that the “older generation” voted en masse for 0bama?
Something about “free” healthcare.
Some haven’t woken up to the fact that “free” means “NO” healthcare for geezers. It’s not “cost effective” to treat you, and I guess you just have to “learn to live with the health problems of old age” like Daschle tells you to.
Money funnelled to ACORN and to Fan/Fred mortgage holders is simply a chickensht way of implementing “reparations”.
Response:I tend to agree with you. If the clown allows and/or encourages such behavior in saner times such conduct would amount to an impeachable offense. He swore to uphold the law and the law protects people and their right to be secure in their ownership of property.
Thanks I suspected as much.
