[history]
A judge in New York has ruled against a Liberian woman who cited religious reasons for smuggling meat from an endangered species of monkey into the United States.
Raymond J Dearie, a federal US district judge, said that Mamie Manneh was wrong when she claimed that her faith - a sect of Christianity - meant that she did not need to apply for permits to import exotic food stuffs.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
She could use the same excuse for cannibalism.
A couple of years ago they caught some Haitian woman smuggling in a human skull. We have Ted Kennedy to thank for these Diversity Visas. We never did have enough monkey-eating African Cannibals in our melting-pot/salad-bowl.

I’ve known many Liberians for years and I’ve never heard of anything like this. Of course, this woman could be from one of the tribes less represented here than the Krahn or Mandingo.
