How the Palin email hacker suspect was caught Thomas Lifson September 20, 2008
TGDaily, a tech site, explains how the suspected Palin email hacker, 20-year-old David Kernell, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and son of Democratic Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell, was caught. He used a proxy server supposed to anonymize his identity, but the owner was quite upset at being used to cover illegal activities, and was also contacted by the FBI. Read the further details here.
It is obvious from posts the hacker made that he was fully conscious of breaking the law.
There is some suggestion that the hacker may have a loophole. Chloe Albanesius of PC Magazine writes:

This is Watergate meets the 21st Century. Like RMN’s troops breaking into McGovern’s Headquarters, we’ve caught the Dems breaking into Palin’s Headquarters. Follow the money.

I thought this kid was supposedly 15 years old? If he’s twenty then he should be prosecuted.

I think Sarah is supposed to have a private e-mail account for private non-governmental e-mails. There is no evidence that she was using the private account for government business (in order to avoid having to disclose them in a future subpoena) but the Democrat attack dogs immediately started accusing her of that, and I’ve seen news reports on TV that state that as if it were an established fact.

I don’t care how he was caught.
I want to know when he will go to prison and when his father
will resign.
If it was a Repubican it would have already happen.

is concerned about future elections because the new machines are harder to get a look at. Voting machines should be transparent. Unfortunately, they are by design becoming increasingly opaque. Double-plus ungood.

Google News currently shows just 68 hits for "David Kernell." The top two are from CRN news, the next is from something called "The Jawa Report" in Texas, the next from "David Hauslaib's Jossip" which appears to be a gossip blog. Next, Kernell is mentioned on sites in Portugal, Belgium, and Sweden.
It appears that the American MSM has so far deemed this story not helpful to advancing Barack Obama's campaign. In other words, it is not newsworthy.
