How the Palin email hacker suspect was caught Thomas Lifson September 20, 2008

TGDaily, a tech site, explains how the suspected Palin email hacker, 20-year-old David Kernell, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and son of Democratic Tennessee state representative Mike Kernell, was caught. He used a proxy server supposed to anonymize his identity, but the owner was quite upset at being used to cover illegal activities, and was also contacted by the FBI. Read the further details here.

It is obvious from posts the hacker made that he was fully conscious of breaking the law.

There is some suggestion that the hacker may have a loophole. Chloe Albanesius of PC Magazine writes:

Though federal law prohibits the unauthorized access of someone’s e-mail account, the DOJ’s interpretation of one particular case might only hold the Palin hackers accountable for accessing unopened messages, according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).

This is crazy. The person involved is a U.S. governor and candidate for the office of Vice President of the United States. If hacking into her emails isn't viewed as a major security threat, something's totally haywire (so what else is new?)

Correct. These dems cannot play by the rules and have a proclivity to destroy freedom.

They are truly traitors.

Ya’ll need to take a deep breath. Procsecute him? Hell yes. Hard time for a first offense by a kid? Probation, community service and a criminal record seem more appropriate. But at least the little prick is getting his 15 minutes in early.

What is the chance he’ll get off with just probation or nothing at all ?

Personally, I think we should follow Singapore’s example: Public caning for petty crimes. Not only would it result in a large drop in crime, but it would save us taxpayers untold millions, if not billions of dollars. Why waste all the money & resources locking up somebody like this? A good caning would not only teach this young man a good lesson, but would be a good lesson to others!

I’ll give him a loophole. The variance between POI and POA.

I’m not a lawyer or anything, but I’ll bet it’s too great for any of us here. ‘Rats have been working on finding a loophole for the little turd for days.

After a fair trial, the creep should be hanged, plain and simple.

Naaaah, just send his pretty little ass to jail where he's repeatedly gang-raped by his new "husband" big bubba.

"Hey boy, you got a purty mouth!"
