A lot of the people in the Democrat leadership were born in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean we should bomb the United States.

Ron Paul isn’t a Republican...he’s a Libertarian who lies to his constituients by saying he’s a Republican.

He didn’t belong ont that stage tonite.

He should be the keynote speaker at this years Libertarian Party Convention.

What's more important, protecting the people in America,or trying to overturn a right that no matter what republican wins will not be overturn, and besides Rudy has promised he would nominate judges who are conservative,so the abortion issue and gay issue become non issues.I did answer your question.

And Hannity's attack (not an interview) on Rep. Paul was embarrassing for Sean

Indeed it was. Hannity is a moderate and will not tolerate anyone thinking beyond what party dictates.

“Yea, Its a big isuue for gun owners but what the hell, there is only 70 million of them, all of voting age.”

Yeah, and I’m one of the 70 million gun owners (and no I don’t hunt), as are my brothers and father who are hunters. Yet I am not the least bit considered that Romney’s against assault weapons. Again, I just don’t think that he’s wanting to take your guns away from you. When he starts proposing laws to take away all the other hundreds of various types of guns, then I’ll start to worry, but it ain’t going to happen.

“Paul just doesn’t give the impression he would DESTROY THE BEEHIVE. If you have any quotes of his to counter that I would be happy to hear them. Otherwise all I hear is “lets talk with those who want to kill us (and probably, “lets stop supporting those who our enemies hate and maybe they’ll leave US alone....)”

Counter WHAT? Ron Paul presented a declaration of war for the Congress to vote on...but the Congress decided to go all War Power-ish on this war and make it a fight under Vietnam rules. If you consider Paul’s policy aim, and the aim of having a clear war to fight and win wrong, fine, but at least be able to state what about them is wrong besides words you’ve put in his mouth!

“This is false. There is no such language in the Constitition of the United States. Now produce the language you just paraphrased or admit that you have skated off the thin ice into the deep end.”

The language in the Constitution is the power to declare war. The only way you can declare war is by using that phrase and identifying the target of the war. That is how it was done in the past (War of 1812).

“Nonsense, once again you have decided to encroach on the executives war powers. The POTUS is the CIC always. You’re constitutionally challenged. You really don’t know what your talking about, in exigent circumstance the CIC doesn’t even need a Congressional authorization”

Go read the Constitution, Article 2 Section 2 and I quote “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and the Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States...”

The rest of the time the military is governed by Congress’ Article I Section 8 powers. The Congress provides for the calling out of the Militia to enforce the laws of the nation, suppress insurrection, etc... Remember, at the time of the Constitution there was little or no standing army, just the state militias. If the President were always CIC then there would be no need for the Congress to be given all that authority. The whole point of the Constitution is that the President can lead a unified campaign during war, but that one man doesn’t have his own army standing behind him all the time.

“LOL, hardly. Like so many others who argue this word game, you give Congress a pass every time. Korea was a war. Vietnam was a war. Iraq is a war. Afghanistan is a war. You know how I know that? Because good men have died in all and those that return are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Be a man, don’t let Congress off the hook on something as stupid as the language involved in authorizing wars where good men and women pay the ultimate price of war.”

You bet they were wars, UNCONSTITUTIONAL wars. People who fight and die in American service deserve veteran benefits and the benefit of not being sent to die in an improperly declared war.

I could agree to that also. He would also be great as director of homland security.

I'm still leaning strongly for Mr. Hunter as president, but that's a good idea as well.

Now you’re attacking one of your own...Sean espouses on his show all the time that he’s Libertarian in the majority of his beliefs.

Try not to let your knee smack you in the head the next time is jerks like that.

-—but he only did so at the expense of gun rights, as he signed a draconian ban on common, household firearms that are owned by millions of Americans across the nation.-—

Which guns were those? According to the NRA, which backed the legislation that is an out and out lie, one which you don’t seem to mind posting over and over and over.

Well if we want to see Duncan Hunter do well, you know what it means. Break out the wallets and checkbooks. Rudy is pulling in a quarter million PER APPEARANCE. He might do 3-5 appearances PER WEEK! If we FReepers are going to get serious behind Duncan Hunter (and assuming Fred Thompson when he joins the fray) then we need to put the moolah on the line.

Exactly on point. There are a lot of big money people behind Rudy, Inc. Hunter's got a ton of small donors behind him, but we need to up the ante. If we want him to have a chance, he needs to be well-funded enough to compete and get his message out there.

Wrong, miss RudyBooster. calcowgirl is one of the most informed FReepers on the issues. She understands that your guy Rooty is a flaming liberal. A leftwinger of the first order.

"The whole country was attacked that day. I happened to be ‘there’ when it happened, but I always realized, and never forgot, we all were attacked."

I am probably the only person that will tell you that I was there when it was being built. 3 of us decided decided to cut HS from Irvington HS and roam around NYC, taking the PATH train from Newark. This was 1971 I think. We sneaked up an elevator that took us way up to where welders were working on floor steel. Near 90 floors. The supervisor told us not to bother anybody. We didn't. Looked around and went right back down.

Seeing it all come down like that put my heart in a very bad mood. 2 weeks before 9-11 an illegal alien almost killed me running a red light. 6 weeks before that a loved one died. I did not go on a Jihad, but I reserve the right to start one up. These people need some slapping down to size.
