We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
The question is, will conservatism ever again have a chance in this country if we knowingly elect an abortion/gay agenda/anti-gun activist to the presidency from the conservative party. The GOP will be nothing but a joke. A sad sick joke. And our causes go down the tubes.

Your demeanor has been far from professional - something I would expect from the forum owner. I think that your hateful language and harangues have shocked many of us. As a gun-totin, abortion-hating gal, I’m appalled at the vitriol against fellow Republicans. You can count me out of here as a statistic.

exposed Rudy as the abortion supporting gun grabbing liberal that he really is.
Voting for abortion is against my religion and principals.
I would rather fight and lose than somehow "win" without a clear conscience.

Just read through the thread. You’ll see it. If I were the owner of the site and someone called me the stuff that’s been called, I would have acted sooner than JimRob. He’s shown amazing patience. One example: CeltJew Libertarian called JimRob a closet homosexual several weeks ago. But he didn’t get the boot until a couple of days ago and he deserved it (It was on another thread). Read through the recent events before you come to a conclusion like that.

Yes, well, others have been on the receiving end of their attacks. Grunt called me a butch at least 15 times on this thread, which was right in keeping with his posting history, as was his accusation that I'm a lesbian. I don't recall being on the receiving end of Registered's vitriol, but others were. I don't have to be the target to understand that it was wrong. I don't approve of others being abused, as long as it's not me. I don't feed the alligator, hoping to be eaten last.
All of the liberals who have gotten the zot had it coming to them. And Free Republic is already a better place because of it. Some of them were nastier than others, but they all competed for the "honor."

Actually, this site is showing more life than it has in years. Additionally, IMO, you were already sad.
This speech was given shortly before Reagan decided to “break” Reagan’s “Eleventh Commandment” and challenge an incumbent Republican president for the GOP nomination. And it is quite possibly the finest defense of conservatism EVER put forward.
I think he is making a mistake by waiting so long but he has probably thought it all out.
I disagree. This site is going through surgery and will be stronger as a result of this.
FR’s not dying. It’s retrenching itself, and preparing for the battle of the next year and a half. It’ll be ugly, and it’ll be hard. But it’s necessary.

But there are an equal number of instigators on both ends. Anyone who acts like it was only the fault of the “Evil Rudy Supporters” simply isn’t being honest about things.

Conservatives do not like Rudy, or Hillary, or Obama, Edwards or Gore.
There are two sides. Many around here do not understand why you feel it so necessary to try to sell damaged goods to conservatives. Most of us have been, insulted, had our faith made fun of, told we don’t matter, so WTH do you expect?
