Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

That's funny. All the conservatives I know think this is a positive development...for conservatism, and for this site.

Struck me more as a sad day for the site. Posters who've been on here for years and years banned, others gone and not coming back. I've been around for quite a while and nothing like this has come up before.

I’d just like to disagree on that point.

If Hitler is you example, you should've kept your disagreement to yourself.

Don't misunderstand, I remain a supporter of the President and am proud of the two votes I cast for him. But he squandered my first vote and only got my second vote because of the WOT trump card.

I voted for him twice as well. The first time out of conviction, the second time out of lack of a better candidate. He and his boys screwed up the Iraq situation pretty bad, and by their actions they threw away the Republican majority in Congress.

Tancredo; Hunter; Huckabee ... any number of the candidates or possible candidates can fight the WOT. Giuliani certainly doesn't have a lock on that issue.

Yeah, but then we hit the electability issue. I don't see any of those guys beating Clinton or Obama or even Edwards in a year when any Republican candidate is going to be fighting an uphill battle.

To: Knitting A Conundrum

A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means.” —Thomas Jefferson

Based on you logic, he’s probably the best person in history to point at. Were you confused by something I said, do you disagree with what I said. I’m not sure how to take your response.

Is your graffiti in Spanish?

I'll look at it again with that in mind. It could very well be. Those homes are very low income.

Those guys don't have to beat Clinton or Obama.

That's the trouble with the "Rudy electability" argument ... A principled conservative wins on the issues. That's what happened in 2006 - the Republicans weren't moving forward with conservative issues. They campaigned on "Vote for me or Nancy Pelosi is speaker of the House." Talk about the issues, and we win.

Well, it's an epidemic of stupidity on the part of you and your fellow liberal-supporting Rudyphiles. JR has made it clear that the kind of shilling for this leftist that you're doing right here, right now, is unwelcome on this conservative site, but y'all are willfully deaf and blind.

Running down conservatives/conservatism while campaiging for a far left liberal. You’re on the wrong site. Try DU.

“I like that. After this day we call “the other sites”, Rooty Tooty Clubs. Now we need a logo and theme song.”

I saw someone here call it “The Squirrel Cage” and I thought that was a good fit.( forget who, it was a week or so ago)

They are gone because of THEIR actions. The only way they could campaign for Rudy was smear other conservatives and try to bring them down to the same level as Rudy. Posting disgusting innuendo like you did in post #6427 became there typical MO. Jim didn't start this website so he could have his very own place to watch his own posters bring down conservatism.

Roll Tide!

LOL ... Tide fans everywhere.

I took a few of the chilluns over to Tuscaloosa on Saturday ... great fun, and an incredible turnout ... easily the most ever for a spring game anywhere.

This picture is an hour before the game ... before the real crowd showed up. By the second quarter the fire marshall made them close the stadium gates.

(I promise, this is my last interruption of this ban-fest with an off-topic football post. But after all it is 1:30 a.m. here in the Heart of Dixie.)

I gave him a look and Giuliani fails miserably. He’s a 14 carat liberal. He’s liberal on every issue I care about. You say he’ll be so great on the WOT, well how?

He hangs out with Chuck Schumer, Sara Brady, Handcun Control Incorporated, and the Stonewall gays. If you think that’s conservative, more power to you, but I’m not voting for him anytime, any way. (Waiting for the standard vote between him and Hillary comment.)

This is the primaries. Rudy is in the wrong party.

... while we don't usually agree on some issues important to me (i.e., abortion), we do agree on others (for instance, the WOT). I'll miss your voice here...:(

Well, she said she was "gone", but she won't go...

Bad Opus etiquette, IMHO.

I’m not sure how to take your response.

Take it as an invitation not to suggest to me that Hitler was a great leader.

Based on you logic

If you're going to attempt to frame my logic, put it in the context I phrased it in.
