Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

To some, to capitulate would be a abandonment of principle, but there are no principles in politics. There is only political realities and compromises.

Pretty astute comment.

Stalin could have given voice to such opinions.

Or a Frenchman.

I see how you “Patriots” took care of things last election. Because of you “Patriots” I have to hear the words SPEAKER PELOSI on my TV everyday, so please, get off your high horse.

Blaming conservativism for that is just plain wrong. The fact is that Republicans lost Congress because of Bush's PERCEIVED mishandling of the WoT and Katrina, and the fact that the Democrat Party was able to field candidates who could convince voters that they were actually more conservative than the moderates the GOP had been offering them. But you go ahead and keep blaming conservatives and see what that gets you.

If Hillary wins, I will leave the country, and that’s not a threat. I can and I will.

That's stupid.

Thanks....I am awaiting the usual arguments against that premise.

Unfortunately, Politics is what it is.

I don't really know how you could morph it into anything else.

Actually, my candidate of choice is Congressman Ron Paul. But I would be satisfied with Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, or Tom Tancredo (another congressman), and I could probably tolerate Mitt Romney.

Don't be afraid. Republicans are not nearly so divided as the wingnut faction on FR would have you believe. We know what's at stake. We want to win. We will nominate someone more than capable of cleaning her clock

Oh what a refreshing post -- like a breath of oxygen. Thank you.

Good post. I agree.

Not only have many of the Rudy apologists attempted to compare Rudy to President Reagan on the pro-life issue, some have also tried to compare Rudy's absolute TRAIN WRECK of a personal life to President Reagan's--just because Reagan did divorce once (never mind that his unbounded love affair with,,,,and TOTAL DEDICATION AND PUBLIC COMMITTMENT to Nancy would make most romance novels and soap operas envious).

This attempt (at some pathetic sort of skewed moral relativism), too, to justify supporting a liberal, serial adulterer--by attempting to smear President Reagan's personal life is just plain DISGUSTING.

The momentum is in the other direction, and to swim upstream like a doomed salmon in a National election is problematic at best. The 2006 results should have warned you to this new reality. The liberal bear will be gleefully eating your quivering carcass in 2008, if you persist in fighting against the flow.

Posts like this are designed exclusively to demoralize and defeat conservatives and conservatism before the battle has even commenced.

I have never seen a more anti-conservative, or a more egregious, post on this website, ever.

It is al;most like you didn’t even read my post. I am sad that you think arbitrary removal of choice is preferrable to findinf a beter one.

Just remember you support removing choice when itisyours that is removed.

What you refuse to concede is that there is any choice valid except your own. Nancy Pelosi would agree with that position. So would Harry Reid.

You have made it clear that you don’t seek any solution but your own and you don’t care about anyone else’s choice but your own. Please do not cry when others treat you in that same fashion, as they are only treatingyou with yourown standards.

I know, I know... "Just sign zee papers..." A loyalty oath for a long-time Freeper. Disgusting.

So, Jim Robinson is a Nazi...

I knew it was coming to this. Good folks getting purged for supporting the ‘wrong’ GOP candidate. Mind-boggling. Well, I better keep quiet up here in my hiding place, and listen for the inevitable footsteps coming up the stairs. My bags are all packed for that little train ride to the countryside... maybe I can still learn to love Big Brother...

And Big Brother.

That crap isn't going to stand unopposed. Jim Robinson has created the premiere conservative website on the Internet. And if he lays down that law and refused to let liberals and their supporters abuse his forum to promote their agenda and candidates, that is his right and his duty to the conservatives who come here.

I suspect you'll call him a fascist next. That's what liberals do when they flame out - Nazi, Big Brother, Fascist - all the words of a brainless liberal who has lost the argument. I think that you owe Jim Robinson an apology for your heinous attacks and you might want to stop acting like the very type of people we oppose here.

Lessee, Hagel? No, he won't fight anything, except Republicans. McCain? I do not trust him on any issue, including pro-life. He has done nothing since I'VE KNOWN HIM IN ARIZONA to warrant anyone's trust. Romney? Dunno. I heard his speech at C-PAC and wasn't impressed. Rudy's was not much better, but was a little better.

As for "dividers," you're so clueless as to be reprehensible. I was actively campaigning for real conservatives when you weren't even on FR.

It's a very, very simple formula: if Rudy is the GOP candidate, I'll support him enthusiastically. I'd prefer Fred, but I'm not going to torpedo even someone like McClame, whom I destest, just because he isn't "my" candidate. And whether or not Rudy can win the nomination, or the election, remains to be seen. But I learned my lesson in 2006 that the polls are pretty accurate.

If you'd paid any attention, you would have noticed that basically ALL of the Hunter supporters are also fully supportive of Fred Thompson.

I'm open to any of the conservative Republican candidates in the race and will actively support whomever emerges as a contender. The liberal candidates will NEVER, not in the primary and not in the general, get my support.
