Prayer Request for a Dear Freeper [prayers needed for kayak - update in #1,145 ]
FRmail | 12-14-06 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 12/14/2006 7:50:21 PM PST by Brad’s Gramma

I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.

Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.

I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.

So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.

Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!

Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.

Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

In Your Name,
Amen!

Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow!

Baby Finnegan Samuel Learn XXXXXXX was born this afternoon, weighing in at 11 pounds! Don't know other details yet.

Also had second course of chemo with doc's blessings and a challenge to prove him wrong about putting his ok on the chemo. :-)

Would someone please copy this to the ATRW thread? Thanks!

Kayak is a wonderful freeper, I have interacted with her on this forum before and my heart is heavy to hear this.

But there is much hope, I've seen God work many ways. Years ago, as a smalltime newspaper reporter, I interviewed a young man who was in college, but who was given a hopeless diagnosis when he was in a major car accident (extensive brain damage) while in high school. I interviewed a woman (in the early 1980s) who was president of the local cancer society, and who was diagnosed with cancer 18 years earlier. She was living a full life 18 years later.

Kayak, I am praying for you.

Congratulations, an 11 pound baby?! That's impressive.

Hey you two..I decided NOT to let that Chemo get me down when I was going thru it..6 years ago! I rested on the third day, and with the help of a good anti-nausea pill, I only heaved once!

Sure side effects happen, but I dealt with them. I met some amazing and wise people sitting in those chairs next to me..and I was comfortable going to the oncologists because all the people there were like ME!

I'm fine now..I just Praise the Lord for each new day and thank him for his blessings..:)
