Michael Richards exploded in anger as he performed at a famous L.A. comedy club last Friday, hurling racial epithets that left the crowd gasping, and TMZ has obtained exclusive video of the ugly incident.

Kramer's worse. He's an idiot with a microphone and should be disregarded entirely. He's humiliated himself and basically cancelled out his career. The next time he shows his face in public, someone will probably take a shot at him. He's done. Finished.
Enough of a penalty?
The guy in the audience did the same thing. What's going to happen to him I wonder.
The guy in the audience deserves the same.
I refuse to treat blacks as if calling someone some racial epithet isn't something any worse than calling someone a nigger.
The intent is the same. The reaction will be, too.
That being said, if you know me, I see God's infinite variety as one of his gifts. He's painted men the same as if he painted a rainbow. As I said to my buddy Carlao when I first met him, he asked what I thought of Brazil with all the different people together (we actually have racial harmony on par with Brasil from my experience) "O que um arcoiris com so um cor?" ("what is a rainbow with but one color?") My children are moreno and their friends fall along the entire range of the spectrum.
Hopefully they will grow up without the open hatred and hostility this generation has experienced.
There's an interesting but "quiet" racism I observed. In Rio, the girl I was with and I visited her grandmother (her mother was adopted by this wonderful lady.) In this particular building, upper middle class area, there were two elevators. one in the front and one in the back for servants. Just about everyone has servants unless you live in a favela (shanty town/slum.)
Well, it was explained to me that usually darker skinned people like her would sometimes get yelled at if they used the front elevator. Everyone just assumed they were servants! In fact, the girl I was with had been yelled at a number of times in years past. Later on, those who said something had a chunk bitten out of their tails by her "formidable" grandmother. Still, just imagine...
At any rate. I don't appreciate racism. Going both ways. Again, Kramer's done. he's beneath my notice unless I have to step over him in the street. Doesn't excuse anyone else from participating in his idiocy, though. The guy in the audience should have stopped at "That's uncalled for".
LOL. That's hilarious.
It has to be rough, in a way, going from some kind of stardom to several failed projects to...more or less retirement.
Unbelievable...makes me wonder how much Richards was "acting" the role of Kramer...looks like Kramer is Richards. And yes, it is amazing how many people here on FR are defending his behavior.
Somehow you're missing the point.
Your analogy compares blacks to dogs, are you sure that's what you really want to do?
Words are not 'severely beating'. They are mere words. Someone somewhere is always going to say something inappropriate. It's only a problem if the object believes what was said is true.
The problem is in the minds of the blacks. They believe that what whitey says is important. More important than what they say about themselves.
Were that opinion not there, there would be no issue.
If Richards is out of a job now, he can always become a Democratic Senator.
Are you alleging something about me personally, chief?
Well of course a black person isn't going to admit to valuing the opinions of whites more their own culture.
It's clearly visible from their actions, however.
If they valued the opinions of blacks more than whites, they wouldn't object to being called nigger since that is what they call each other.
But, if a white man says it....
Ignorance is bliss then in your case
You won't really understand what you are defending unless you hear it/see it.
The reference to lynching "hanging from a tree" is not funny under any context - there is something seriously wrong with this guy.
He could not POSSIBLY need the money, so I don't know why he would EVER consent to do a stand up act surrounded by a bunch of mostly struggling and probably pretty financially unsound comics; EVERY principal on Seinfeld is a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE. I know his TV series flopped: but he was appearing in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE near the West End in London when I was there about 2 years ago. Richards is obviously emotionally not as together as he should be: with the kind of money he has in the bank he should go into the production end of the biz.
I hear what you're saying. I spent some time at the Ding Ho back in the early 80's and saw some of Boston's finest at work. Not always for the faint-hearted, but funny and sharp as could be.
Now, an interesting thing about what you said is there are hundreds maybe thousands of Rap crap out there about killing white people is the fact one song is titled "Kill d' White People" .. hundreds of similar anti-white hate songs have been written about in various conservative publications and Web sites since that time.. So, how come there hasn't been any great outcry? You know the answer It's because there's a double standard and it's only whites who are held to a higher standard. Some might also say that it's okay to kill whites, so long as the killer is non-white and has just about any kind of screwball excuse that the killer can tell to a black jury. Also, those who hate whites have convinced many aracial white drones that any whites who point out that whites are being slaughtered in the streets are "evil white racists," and non-racist whites shouldn't read what these evil white racists have to say.
Here's another line from another rap song: "Swinging out of the trees, is the blood-spilling, devil-killing, nappy-headed g.'s...blacks and Mex take a stand...I'm down with Chico, and not with the man."(Da lench Mob, Priority Records). If you're truly out of touch, you probably don't know that "devils" is becoming a common term used by non-whites to describe whites.
This is exactly why I said I did not want to hear the video..
Now who is Ignorance here!!!
lol, no argument there.
Richards doesn't get a pass from me because some Rappers have violant disgusting lyrics - they are just as bad as he is then.

I agree but I think the point is the hypocrisy of the media who turn a blind eye and can't seem to muster any outrage over its use by black entertainers. The word makes me cringe whoever uses it, but the selective outrage by the media makes me furious.
As a black man, I can tell you -- that's ridiculous. That's saying because it ticks you off when someone flips you off in traffic, you value that person's opinion.
Nobody likes to be disrespected apropos of nothing. That's what someone who uses racial slurs does, because they don't know you from Adam, but will in effect accuse you of being guilty of the worst stereotypes, regardless of whether they apply.
Plus the compulsive media blindness to Chris Rock and other black comedians' use of honky and cracker. Then their 'racial sensitivity' is mysteriously absent.
