Welcome to the live thread for the California Primary Election. Polls are open until 8pm tonight. If you are a registered voter, it is your duty to vote and defend your rights and civil liberties, protect your pocketbook, and vote the bums out where applicable.
Feel free to discuss issues key to your local area that others may be interested in. Post your polling place experiences if you like. And post numbers as they come in later tonight.

That is going to be one hell of a spin. John Kerry and Al Gore both sent messages, DNC pumped in a ton of money. The dems had a "cannot lose" campaign strategy: Have you had enough. It's time for a change.
Oh, I guess they can say there candidate is dumber than a stick and revealed her secret strategy a week too soon: "Illegals can vote without papers." But then she recovered and said a day later: "I meant illegals can help me win this campaign." PRICELESS

"Personally I don't care how much the Dems "win", as long as their candidates keep coming in second. :-)"
You got that right!
To: Bush gal in LA
They just had a Fox news alert that called it for Billbray!
Oh, bravo, bravo, now I can rest in peace (not forever I hope). Off to bed I go, happy with our wins, and happy that today (it's already today) the Dems will be miserable. Love it when their balloon is deflated.

Tremendous news! Brian Bilbray is one of the good guys. He just increased the IQ of California's Congressional delegation by 25%. Best part is he already knows his way around the House so he can go in and start working right away. Francine Busby would have taken 3 months just to learn where the bathrooms are, and the Dems would have had her on every TV show and out on the fundraising circuit so much she wouldn't be doing anything to actually serve the district.
So what does this make the Kos crowd, 0 for 11? LOLOLOL

If there now has to be a run off, it looks like once again the 3rd. party voters accomplished nothing but to muddy the waters and force the state to spend more money on elections.
I wish the children would grow up and pick a party with a chance of winning, then work to make it better.

If there now has to be a run off, I'm not familiar with CA law under these circumstances, but it does not appear that this is a runoff situation. News outlets have called the election for Bilbray.

I'm happy they have called it for Bilbray, and I also don't know if Calif. Law will force a run off, either way, the point about 3rd. party voters is still valid, they accomplish nothing of value, even for their own cause.

Looking at your numbers, it appears as though the district remains a 45% dem district. Stasis. Either illegal immigration has juice or the polling showing Bush as the worst President ever dragging down the republican party is erroneous.
Either way there are a lot of unhappy campers at the DNC, the New York Times, USA Today and CNN this morning.
To: The_Victor
there isn't a runoff. Bilbray won.

Fox has Bilbray winning "narrowly", as if it was too close to call. Winning by 4+ points doesn't seem narrow to me!!

Probably Fox would say whatever the AP or the WP or the NYT would lead with. That is how "liberally" dumbed down they seem to be now. Then if anything at all, they'd have on a Dem and a Repub to argue back and forth "what does this mean?" But the lead wording would always give it the slant of the MSM.

To: CedarDave
Well, Bilbray doesn't actually have a clear majority (still a few precincts outstanding) so maybe "narrow" would qualify. Or maybe I'm just making excuses for the MSM that clearly deserves conservatives contempt.
