Most of the controversies from the wild 2004 presidential campaign have long been forgotten. But one is coming back, the New York Times reported this week, and we're glad it is: Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic nominee for president, is joining an effort to debunk the many attacks on his service in Vietnam more than two decades earlier.
[snip]
Although they had little bearing on Kerry's qualifications to be president, his young-man's sentiments on Vietnam were a legitimate issue. But that's not where it stopped. Reprising a campaign tactic that had worked well against Sen. John McCain in 2000 and Sen. Max Cleland in 2002, White House political strategist Karl Rove went straight at Kerry's most significant strength: his war record. In the following months, Kerry was accused of shooting himself to get the purple hearts; of having political plans even at that young age that fueled a cynical plot to get medals any way he could; of fabricating, lying about and exaggerating his military experiences. The tactic worked; people began to think maybe Kerry was "Unfit for Command," the title of an anti-Kerry book. Eventually, and bizarrely, people were arguing about whether Kerry took his boat into Cambodia on one occasion. To us the story sounded quite plausible (a number of Americans made clandestine trips into Cambodia during that time), as well as irrelevant to the campaign.

Little John Kerry
with face oh so scary
decided to enter a war
He lied about battles
shot himself in the prattle
He is such a political whore!
No candidate should have to endure what Kerry got.
No candidate except an opportunist like Kerry who to this day has not signed the DD-180 form which would probably settle the issues in question. He still refuses to answer detailed questions about his many discharges and why several administrations were involved in his discharges and medals
In short however is a question: How many officers who served in Viet Nam do you know who chronicled their missions with a camera which showed them in battle facing the enemy.
Kerry was the star of his own films. That says it all.
He carefully has been planning his political career for decades and many of those plans were made with deception and dishonesty. This man is a phony if there ever was one and my only political contribution in 2004 went to Swift Vets and I continue to support them.
Although they had little bearing on Kerry's qualifications to be president
WRONG. They had everything to do with kerry's lack of qualifications. Honesty, integrity and support for his buddies in arms. If ever there was a man who deserved to be in prison for treason, it is John Kerry.
He signed it. Only certain individuals got to look at it.
It's my understanding that about 100 pages were not released
How did a mediocre student such as Kerry get to deliver the class oration? The language of the Glob excerpt is odd for 1996 antiwar. It smacks of a latter time.
Kerry did not have the courage to join up for the purpose of furthering his political career, he joined the Naval Reserve after his application to extend his 2-S exemption to study at the Sorbonne was turned down.
>>>>He signed it. Only certain individuals got to look at it.
>>How did he get a restricted use of the form?
He signed it, showed the signed form to witnesses, then shredded it. Thus he can say he signed it, have witnesses, but the military still doesn't know.
(I signed it before I didn't sign it, don't ya know LOL)
Anybody have a graphic of a "Free Pass" issed by the press?
Actually, Kerry claims that he did. His propaganda ministers over at the Boston Globe reported that early last year. Liars!
He didn't really do that, but they reported it anyhow. It was a partial release. Next year they will use that lie as a source to refute the SF180 allegations.
The Globe and other sources also reported during the actual 2004 campaign that the Swiftys had been debunked. (They indeed had not been debunked at all.) They lie unlike anything one can imagine.
It was certainly not the Herald. Kerry does not have a lot of friends over there.
The Herald may be schizo a lot these recent months, but Kerry fans? Not so far.
Ah! Musta been the Globe!
If it is true, then it will come out and be made public if Hanoi John decides to proceed in his lawsuit against the Swift Boat veterans. He can explain to the public how he, an officer, got less than an honorable discharge. It is rare enough for enlisteds to get a less than honorable discharge, though not unheard of, but for officers it is almost totally unheard of.
Hmmm.....I didn't know that.
..."I'm no weenie"
Nobody accused him of shooting himself.

There is the Link, below my letter.
To the Editors:
If Senator Kerry wants to end the whispering about his Military service, he can simply sign Form 180. Form 180 gives the Military legal authority to release all the Senator's Military records to the Public. So far the Senator has refused to do this. What the Senator is claiming as his "Military Records" are merely carefully selected PR pieces, not his full record. IF the Star Tribune Editors are seriously interested in the truth, they should be urging the Senator to sign form 180.
Right on to your picture. SPOT on in fact.
So rather than leave it an open record, he sends the information to a couple of friends who probably will protect him and we are supposed to buy that?
What are the chances of those folks practicing their freedom of the press in posting all the information they were given?
If the answer is they will not, then I say something is covered up.
